Anyone here ever experience tension headaches??? I've been getting them off and on for the last month or so and now they are becoming more common. It makes it extremely hard to work and get anything done. They are almost as bad as a migraine. I think they're from looking downward at my computer screen for hours at a time. So does anyone here have experience with them and how to prevent and get rid of them?

Tylenol and Advil aren't doing the trick and I even tried some neck stretches I found on YouTube but those aren't really working for me either... :(

Any help would be appreciated since it's becoming hard to get anything done when my head feels like it's in a vise.

I had to go see an MD for a while for those. Anything the guy put me on didn't work. I actually stopped taking the meds bc they were a waste of time. Eventually, they stopped but what really started to make me feel better was getting exercise. Running for 45 to 60 minutes a couple of days a week and weight lifting really helped. For me, it was getting my blood pumping. It seemed like the less I did, the worse my headaches were. So I became more active and they became less and less. Now I don't have them anymore. At one point they were so bad, I couldn't do anything without wearing sunglasses. They lasted for about 5 months or so. Get active, it worked for me. Hope this helps.

My wife complains about them when she's on her period.

    Are you on your period?

This could be part of my problem. I got laid off from my job in November, 2012. So I've been pretty lazy, sitting around at home on un-employment while spending 20-30 hours per week in front of my computer. I just bought a exercise bike last week I just haven't been able to use it with these headaches.

I do have glasses. I normally use them when driving at night but recently I have found that my vision is getting worse so I have been using them more frequently. I'm getting old LOL :p

LOL! I'm not on my period right now, it should be here next week... ;)

Today I got one -- my eyes and ears hurt and the pain shifts in my brain. I'd never use tylenol -- it causes heart attacks, look it up -- I only use ibuprofenol on rare occassions.

I get off the computer and rest my eyes. Meditating or sitting quietly in a dimly lit room can help. I wash my eyes with cold water and drink lemon water (water with a squeezed lemon) to help detox my body. Putrefaction (look it up) causes headaches so I detox your GI track with lemon water or apple cider to get bowel movements and body detox. HFCS, corn and other genetically engineered crap like triggers my headaches.

Try listening to this video with your headphones on. It really worked wonders for me when I'm in a similar situation of yours.

I have been there and still visit them often. My best cure for them so far is to make some sales.

I've experienced bad headaches in the mornings, they cured themselves but I think it's the best choice to go to a doctor.
