Hello, does anyone happen to know of a way to make temp links for downloads? I'm uber sorry if this is in the wrong section but i am about to start selling a product and i wont be using any "middleman" like cb but i will use paypals IPN and send the buyer a email and when he clicks the link to download, my site will generate a temporary download link for 5 minutes. Anyone know how this is done? Also i think this is like MS's msdn dl handler.

I've written several scripts to do this with PHP, but it's something of a pain. I'm not aware of any publicly available simple-to-implement version of this. There are a couple ways to do it, but the easiest way I have done it in the past is with symlinks and cronjobs.

could you hook me up with the php script? I'll give you the product im selling for free to make it worth your while. Also if you have a auth system script that would be pleasant as well because the current one i have i dont actually trust since it was created by my friend who is just starting php haha!

i found this topic on another site: http://www.webmasterworld.com/ecommerce/3342343.htm maybe you could help me make that code? Seems easier than what you said above...

just my $.02 but I'd make it good longer than 5 minutes unless it's 5 minutes from when they open the email and you put that in big red bold letters on the top of the email. Otherwise you're gonna have lots of pissed off people emailing you.
