Telegram scam - explain it?

Not sure if right section.

So telegram.... I get like 5 messages a day, usually from some semi-attractive asian girl. I'm sure its some of you guys on this forum lol. Can anyone explain whats going on here? They say some dumb shit, like "are you the guy from uber", or "is this xxxxxxxxx"? I respond, no. So they maybe know I'm real.... There was a time or two where I would engage in conversation for a bit, to see what the scam was... But they didn't try and funnel me into something. I get these messages daily. Anyone know what these scams are?

that's a pretty common opening for those long-con investment scams. they don't ask for money straight away because the whole idea is to build a conversation first, sometimes for days or weeks. the random "wrong number" message is just a way to get you replying.

Someone building a TG contact list? IDK why there are so many scams in Telegram . Scammers are farming accounts, groups and their activity to simulate a 'human talk' to trick the people. Mostly at cryptocurrencies groups.
