Telegram has applied for the .gram domain zone.

If the application is approved by ICANN, a billion Telegram users could get their own second-level domains.

For example, @durov would get durov.gram, and @monk would get monk.gram.

Users would be able to set up their interactive websites hosted by Telegram — just by typing one prompt ✨

Solid update, do you think ICANN will grant full control over ⁠.gram⁠ or will Tg run into standard regulatory delays? Also curious if existing premium handles bought on Fragment will automatically map to these domains or if there will be extra renewal fees.

I saw this minutes ago from the founder on Twitter. There's a lot that could be done with this.
 
This is definitely interesting, and I can't wait to see what this could benefit in the future.
Specially the one that have so much pretty cool users

Interesting move by Telegram. Not sure how many people would actually use it though — most folks already have their usernames and don't really need a whole zone.
