isn't right time to complete BAN telegram on the forum? also asked the sellers on marketplace to stop putting telegram in there BST thread. providing telegram as a support channel or off-forum channel is not good for buyer or seller also instead seller can use whatsapp or other support channel that dosen't offer chat clear on both side option.

It's a big problem but then, there are just too many users with telegram

Won’t happen, it’s too popular, and it would be a hassle to tell everyone to stop using it. Although, it’s long overdue.
  • Forum PMs (or a chat-like feature) for communication only
  • Ability to have one off-site contact in BST, something that cannot be changed or modified (e.g., an email address)

Many people use Telegram. Too many people actually. Using a Middleman is the safest way to do any deal, after making sure that you are dealing with a reputable and trusted Middleman, of course.

I'd say its the opposite, so much business is done on Telegram, including bots and miniapps, that we should have a separate Telegram subforum

If someone wants to scam then no matter where you are (tele, whatsapp etc) they will scam.

Telegram is too popular to get banned yet because most people have Telegram.

You got a point though. There are many people misusing telegram but banning TG will be wipes up too many user. Cause many people still consider privacy while providing/receiving service also there is no other app as good as telegram still exist for easy messaging. I usually prefer checking and verifying the buyer before knocking them on their telegram so the risk ration is less in that way.

ever heard about whatsapp? buy a virtual number and make an account on whatsapp, on WP you can't erase both side chat, 90% time the dispute that open on BHW have the same problem and that is erasing the both side chat.

if anyone want to scam a person, he will do it even on telegram or on whatsapp or in-person.

But as blackhatworld users, we like telegram.

And it's "people" who cheat after all, and fraud happens on any app.

Telegram isn't the only thing that's bad.

Totally makes sense removing Telegram from BST threads could improve transparency and buyer safety since chats there can be easily wiped by either side.

This was part of the recent discussion here, but a reminder:
Buyers have to take some responsibility. If something indicates a red flag or a buyer isn't comfortable with any part of the process e.g. external communication, payment method, etc, they should find another provider/seller.
Using a Middleman is the safest way to do any deal
As per 'Commonly asked questions' for this section, we will have something to help handle the need with the Marketplace 2 (MP2) launch.

We've already improved Hire a Freelancer and Want to Buy sub-forums by restricting outside contact information both in the original post and replies. This is something currently under review amongst the team. Watch this space. :)
