Hello BHW,
I'm working on a local SEO project and I would like to target multiple locations.
From what my competitors are doing, every (or almost all ) single location has its own Phone number and Address.
My problem is that I do not have the budget to buy 30 phone numbers for 30 different locations.
So I thought about creating 29 fake phone numbers and redirect them to the real one I own.
In order to do that, I made a quick test on my website using Yoast SEO plugin.
So here instead of doing a tel:123456789, I linked to a fictive page on my website
I went then to Yoast SEO Redirect tool and redirected the fictive link to my active Phone number : Tel:111222333.
And It worked.
However, now I'm worried about the SEO impact of this.
I already know that for user experience, it is not great... but it is better than not ranking at all for these locations . So on this side, I'm ready to take the risk.
But for the SEO part I just don't know how it will react.
So Please, enlighten me. Thank You
