All,

This is Techxan's son posting under his account. I just read the memorial thread posted by rabbitking, but the thread was closed & I wasn't able to respond. First off, I have to tell you all how much he enjoyed his time here and what it meant to him. Big surprise that I'm in the IT field having him as my father. :) Because of that, we often talked a lot about IT related matters and he always had good things to say about BHW.

My dad passed on December 22nd unexpectedly. The coroner's report basically says he had a heart attack, but myself & my family don't believe that. He was a....big man to say the least however he had cataract surgery in August which required that he take a full physical. As far as heart health, he passed with flying colors. BP was 120/78, low cholesterol & triglycerides, EKG was perfect, etc. We think the coroner basically took a look at his size and just said "heart attack". A few weeks before he passed, we went Christmas tree shopping and he dropped the tree on his toe, bashing the hell out of it. I personally believe he had a clot that traveled. I was the first person there after being contacted by my mom and insisted on seeing him. He was found at his computer working (which was normal), sitting in his chair, yet nothing was knocked off the desk onto the ground and no signs existed that seemed to indicate that he was suffered or struggled. My mom had a very bad heart attack in '06, so I'm keenly aware of what happens when someone has one and I just don't believe that was what happened. It looks as though it was instant which is one of the few positive things I can say about all this. Dad was cremated and we all got an urn with his ashes.

He was 60 when he passed. We were a small family: just him, my mom, my sister & myself. Later I added a few grandchildren, a boy & a girl. That was the extent of our immediate family, so this has been devastating to all of us. You all saw how he was here, so you can imagine what it was like to know him in real life and, to speak personally, what it was like to be his only son.

Thank you to all of you for the kind words I just read. I cried like a baby.

For anyone interested, here is the link to his obituary: http://www.jeterfuneralhome.com/obit.php?id=1384

A special thank you to redrubies who has been talking to me over Facebook. Also, to the user who found the fabled "stool", please PM this account so that I can make arrangements to get that to my mom if you are so inclined.

MODS: If I've done something wrong, overstepped my bounds or broken any rules, please let me know. I'm not a member of this forum

Regards,
Techxan Jr.

Sadly, no. I'm not a SEO magician like my dad was. I'm in managed services for a small IT firm in Houston and my skill set is different.

If that line of work doesn't work out, there are more than a few of us who will teach you the secrets of the inner circle out of respect to your father. Just make a post and your inbox will be flooded with options and opportunities.

BHW can help you add new skill set on your belt. Don't limit yourself to particular area. You had good example that this forum still deserve the time spent over here.

Sorry for your loss!

Your Father was a good man and many of us were blessed to have interacted with him on this site as well as through Skype and email.

Sorry for your loss, Techxan Jr.

I'm very sorry for your loss and can't imagine what you're going through. I just wanted to echo everyone else's thoughts and extend my deepest condolences. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say you and your family will be in my prayers.

Wow,

Thank you so much for posting Texchan Jr! I was very curious about the heart thing since it is the leading cause of death in males.

I wasn't very close to your father but I know people who were close to him and I know he was an outstanding man. I also know he would be proud that you have came onto the forum to let all his fans and friends know what really happened.

You father was a very intelligent man. I'm sure you know that. Very humble. Really one of the best romodels I knew of on this forum.

I hope that YOU and your family are getting through this as best as you can.

And if there is anything you ever need. If you ever wanna talk about your dad, tell stories, I'm sure the forum would love to hear. At any rate, please hang in there and stay strong. You fathers legacy will never be forgotten.

-Rob

I hope your bearing up well buddy. Thanks for the followup. I wish you and your family all the best.

As i said in rabbitkings thread, i never spoke to him privately or really knew him, but he was one of the great members here that when he spoke people read what it was he had to say.

I sincerely appreciate the offers for help on applying SEO to my resume, but honestly, I'm not doing so bad. :) I've been doing IT for 13 years and have a very VERY nice job that I love. Should that need ever arise, I assure you that BHW will be my first stop.

I was recently reading one of my threads from December 19th, 2014 when I realised that I had never responded to one of Techxan's posts on my thread. I had meant to tell him that the reason I acknowledged his contributions over the other members was because his excellent advice throughout the forum had helped me personally.

Anyway, thank you for following up with us about your father's demise.

Geez I didn't even know your dad and when I saw his avatar posting again my heart jumped.

I saw the obituary and your dad is exactly how I pictured him. He was real authentic on the forum, he kinda let us know how he was in real life through his posts and his helpful demeanor here.

RIP, Sir. Bless your family.

Even though I knew that you were going to post here, I still jumped when I saw the name. I miss him so much. If you ever need anything, please don't hesitate to ask. We are all here for you and will help you with whatever you or your family needs. I will send a pm to the person who has the stool and link him to this thread.

Sorry for your loss. Your dad helped me a lot and he never even knew it. He made me laugh many times too with his posts. I'm very sorry to hear of this. Good luck to you and yours.

As young children, we know how our fathers have such knowledge and greatness to them. As we age and construct our identities through rebellion as piss and vinegar teens and young adults, we are embarrassed by our fathers, whom now play the fool. It is not until we truly become men, do we rediscover what we have always known all along and just didn't want to admit. Except this time, you had all of your father's peers bear witness and share their stories to you. The sadness is the timing of telling you after your pop has passed.

Your pop was a good guy, just as you are.

'Techxan Jr',

Words cannot express my gratitude for you to come back and give us an update to what happened to your Dad. As a (step) father myself, I can only hope to impart the caring you showed both to him and to us. Your Dad was a genuinely good and decent guy but I'm not telling you anything you didn't already know. From your post, I can easily tell that the "apple didn't fall far from the tree" in more than just the IT aspects of your character.

You've had some offers for people to assist you in respects to SEO or other BHW techniques and I wanted to also make you this offer. At any time if you have a question concerning the forum, your account, if something's allowed or not etc, feel free to PM me - it will get my full attention.
