    wtsup guys,

so i made a wordpress website. First thing I did was make it look nice and added a 600 word article with pictures and stuff.
I also installed google analytics and googel sitemaps.

What would be the course of action from here? My idea was to:
    add 1 article a day
try to link to my site on forums to get backlinks.

my site is diablo3hype dot com.
Any suggestions are welcome, i am really new to this SEO buisiness and have no idea if im doing the right thing

    Updates:
Resized theme image to ~30 kb form 400kb to speed up loading time.
installed then wp super cache plugin to also speed up loading time
installed the Yoast plugin and configured it to the keyword diablo 3 make gold fast

Main question now is should I spend 5$ for a fiverr gig for backlinks? will it really help?

Rule #1 - Find out what people are searching for with regards to your niche and optimize your titles and articles around that - the beginning of the title holds a lot more weight than the end.

That should be the first thing you implement as it will have the biggest effect. Once you get that down, you can get more advanced.

As Sacrilege said, do you know how to do proper keyword research? I'd be willing to give you some pointers if you don't.

You can find a cracked version of Internet Business Promoter, it really helped me fine tune my on-site seo efforts! Also get the plug-in called WordPress SEO by Yoast. This plugin will make Sacrilege's suggestion a 2 second fix.

That should perfect your On-Site optimization, then just build links yourself, or if you can scrape up 5 bucks, get a penguin friendly fiverr gig.
Here is a social bookmark gig from a member of BHW here, its great and only $5.

oh i see so I should add an SEO plugin for wordpress. doing that right now. As to doing proper keyword research i have no idea how to do that. could you please give me a few pointers, thanks

edit: my original goal was to try to make any profit even if its 1 cent on a website without any initial investments. However, would the 5$ fiver gig really benefit the website? is it worth the investment?

You theme are really good but posted image not display properly, improve some meta data such like Meta description in 150-160 char, 10 keyword and title in 68 char, Keyword optimization are very important .

    http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...ethod-step-step-keyword-research-newbies.html

Theres a good guide to Keyword research... You have installed Yoast but you need to have it configured correctly...look at some youtube videos there are a few that will show you how to set it up. Your site loading time is slow ....add wpsuper cache to speed it up....Your feature graphic file is too large, try to condense this image to quicken things up this will reduce your bounce rate.

New version of Yoast but the basic package remains the same...use the page analysis in posts and pages to see any problems. Thats a really hard niche to get into and you may have missed the boat on this project but use the advice you have got so far to set up your next project.

All in one SEO should be used. you should become a regular member in the forums and also try other means of link building. Remember that all kind of links are important for Link building.
NB: I think avoiding the Fiverr gigs for SEO is better.

hmm why would you say to avoid these gigs? Is it because most of them give you bad backlinks. also could anybody suggest me a place to learn how to build my own backlinks that wont get me penalized

You really need to spend some time browsing the forum and learning from it instead of just blindly asking for help. It can seem a bit daunting, but it's the best way to learn. Here are some highlights from various areas:
