Greetings all.

I have a Technical SEO interview comming up and I was wondering if any of you had any insights on how to ace these.

I consider myself somewhat educated on technical SEO but I want to make sure I do well.

Anyone have any good guides or resources for me to study?

Thanks.

it will probably be very weak interview.

if interviewer had enough knowledge he wouldnt need you, so he will ask basic questions, unless they are farming noobs to spam related forums with original content and link to website

Just keep your phone in your pocket and we’ll help you through it :-)

Only joking, I guess they are going to want to gauge your knowledge and more than likely they’ll ask what you will do for their site(s) so do your research find out what they’re doing right now, what sort of strategies they’re employing, where they’re falling short then come up with a solid plan to present to them.

I like your logic. But I still want to use my remaining time wisely.

I will most likely need to go over my strategies for:

Keyword Research

Link Building

Content Creation

General Knowledge (i.e what is a canonical)

Anything else? Feel free to provide strategies or resources for us to read.

Thanks.

I just had a business idea: Phone interview helper. Parses questions/answer data to you instantly to help you pass these types of things.

Technical SEO means Google Search Console or Google Webmaster tool. Try to read Google Webmaster tool in details, go to Youtube there are many more good video tutorial regarding webmaster tool, study from there.

Just do a google search for the latest SEO news, Usually the interviewers simply want to know if you are aware of the latest and greatest as they themselves are too busy to go in details of everything. so know the basic tenets of every thing current in SEO should help.
Cheers!

If you're aware of the latest SEO practices and know about the subject, then no need to worry I think... one thing is giving plain answers to questions, but interviewing a potential SEOer, I'd look for suggestions and ideas from the person... If you're hiring someone to do SEO, you need him to be smarter than you, not someone who you test for right or wrong answers..

I attended an interview on SEO before

They asked my name and details.
They asked me the following questions.

1. How do you rank a new website?
2. Do you have any experience with other SEO tools?
3. Are rich snippets crucial for a website?
4. They again started to ask about my family members?

Be strong at basic things. That's all

OP im interested to see what they ask you please let us know!

Just finished. It was not as technical as i thought it would be.

Questions asked:
Tell me how you accomplished increasing your rankings ?
Tell me about Googles freshness update? How do you re-purpose the republish the articles or content you have
What did you do to increase your rich snippets?
How is your organization structured?
