My dad is currently in his 50's. He spends his time playing zynga poker. I want to teach/show him something so he could also make some money. It isn't like he needs money, I just don't want him to waste his time. It can be $100 per month or even less. I only know PPD but I think that's too hard for him. Maybe he could help me somehow but I can't figure out how. His English isn't great so writing isn't an option. I'm open for suggestions.

if he is into online gaming, ask him to join some high traffic communities where he can discuss and talk with people.Google it and you will find many.start with 1 or 2 than move to more.

In the mean time you can create a decent wordpress website in the same niche and do some keyword research. outsource some article writing and update the blog after three days or in a week with a good 500+ article.

After a month or two the communities your dad joined, ask him to put a signature links with your keywords in it or something that attract the community to click on it. or you can do that for him.

Add some adsense or clickbanks products on the website/blog you created.

The more he is active on these communities the more you will get business.

You know the drill from there....
 
How about taking articles written in english, translating them with google/bing, verifying if they are coherent in croatian and adding them on a personal blog? That should work easy with Adsense, imo. If the posts treat the same domain as your dad specialized, it's even better and easier.
Also, check the methods presented on this forum. Some of them are really easy to use.
 
I think it's awesome. You should turn it into a father/son project and profit together. He'll gain experience without even realizing it and you'll get father/son time. It's a win situation even if it doesn't do great. My dad still works (he's almost 60) and enjoys what he does, but I would love it if he had time for something like this.
 
Make him a blog about what he is really good at in real life, something in which he is having a lot of experience. Get him a .com, a nice design, help him out how to post etc, and give it time.Let him make his own authority site, but every now and then you teach him as he progress, about the onpage seo and such. Since you said he doesn't need money as in a desperate situation, give the guy to do something he might enjoy as well.

As he progress, help him a bit from background, but not SEO or anything, just pay some people to leave related comment son his site so that he can see he is having an audience, but remember it must be something he likes.

Sooner or later, monetize it, and he will make much more than you ;D

It might be difficult for him at first, but if you are patient and explain him 5 times every single thing and give him examples, he will learn and get to like it as well.
 
You do know IM can be done in other language other than english right?
 
Use him as a bot. Make him do automated tasks like posting comments on youtube and rating them :)
 
Am I the only one who thinks OP is talking BS?

OP's Dad = OP? Is this another how to make money thread with a twist? I think so!
 
Just build a facebook fan page where you post constantly there, and make your dad to advertise this fan page.
Do comments, likes, shares and stuff like this that will bring more likes to your fan page.
After he builds some audience you can monetize the fan page :)
