Water supply and electricity aren’t free (let alone the internet), so we pay taxes + electricity on top of that.

I hate taxes. But i could live with them if they were reasonable, a few percent. But whats going on in the world is insane. Anything above 10% is absolutely nuts!
The real estate and the income tax are particularly outrageous!!! Make you live in fear in your "own" home and stunt your motivation for producing.
Tax cars, i can choose not to drive. Tax food, i can choose not to eat. Tax whatever you want, i can choose not to partake. But tax my income? You motherfuckers!!! This means war!!!
But it goes deeper. Theres an insult to injury. Theyre merciless. The fucking paperwork. Fuck you! I dont wanna deal with any cancer-causing paperwork! I do not want to have a lawyer or an accountant! And audits? If you knock on my door for an audit Mr taxman, ill shoot you! How dare you?!?!
So its all bullshit. But theres really no way around it unless you go highly illegal. I guess you could go full around the system and not pay any taxes on your income and all that. I guess you could do something with crypto and/or stealth accounts on the various payment processors. And cash is your friend...
But it would only work for up to a point. And you would have to be very fucking careful not to leave any loose ends. And forget about buying that big house and fancy car, mr i pay no taxes = mr i have no income = mr unemployed

Its no different from protection money paid to the mafia. I think people need to let go of the utopian belief that the world is fundamentally good, systems of governance are fundamentally moral, and all other fairy tales, once you accept that systems are generally run by coalitions of vicious sociopaths, you don't feel as much angst anymore. Reminds me of the Mark Twain quote "If there is a God, he is a malign thug."

Actually quite true, and I'm not so sure mass privatization is always a good idea.
I'm all for liberal capitalism, but the mass-privatization of national assets (roads, airports, other infrastructure) is usually done so the government in power can get as large a kickback as possible, and give themselves an unearned bonus by selling off national assets that may have been built with decades of taxpayers money.

It's not like you have public roads, hospitals, schools, etc., and everything's free. You're paying for it in taxes anyway, actually you're overpaying because you have to cover the government, ministries, departments, officials, clerks, and all that bullshit that you wouldn't have to pay for if it was private. So if you can survive in this world, you'd survive in the world where this things were private.

Most of these you have to pay for them. twice. I guess it depends on where you live, but neither hospitals, nor tap water, roads, bridges (toll fees), electricity, cemeteries are free. (In fact, burial plots can actually be very expensive). If you don’t pay the bills you can’t use these services, despite paying your taxes. I don’t like paying twice.

Taxes are great. I pay them and I get in return roads, hospitals, education, police, fire fighters, parks and more. If my money even goes to support someone in need - that's even better.
