Tattoos? How many is too many?

So I just got my first tattoo about a month ago... and am seriously considering getting a half sleeve.

I'm an artist and really care less what people think as I historically have been my own boss, but where does the line cross in to tacky?

Thoughts? What do you guys/(girls, are they on this board?) have inked?

im fairy inked, both shoulders, back, even some on my ribs/stomach, no nothing gangsta.

I have been careful to never have anything past my elbows, so I can still do a white collar job, be able to roll my sleeves up and nothing be visable

I did it when I was younger, I dont regret them, but remember ITS FOR LIFE !! dont get them to be cool, dont get them for girls, do it for own reasons.
 
I think what's more important is where you get them on your body. I have two, and I'm getting ready to get another one. But both of mine can be easily covered up with a shirt and pants. I would never get one on my knuckles or face for example.

I have several and I will be the first to say and maybe the first to get alot of people disagreeing with me lol... But Woman with Tattoos Are sexy More the better....
 
Yea girls with tats are freaking sexy. The more, the better. Having said that, I would never get a tat and IF I did, I would only get one. IMO one is in good taste, 2 is questionable, 3 or more is just gotti. There are exceptions of course, like if you own a tat shop I can see where you would have like 10+ tats. I say NOTHING below the elbow.

The answer is personal. There's NO RULE how many you should get and where you should get them! And what is that b#llsh#t that you couldn't have more then 2 tattoos, only if you own for example a tattooshop :eek:

Tattoos are always going to be a taboo in several countries, whitch is very sad... It's a personal choice!

I have several tattoo's and i'm happy that here in Brazil having tattoo's isn't a so called "crime" and people don't look at you like you are an alien or a gangster.
 
the point where you are known as the "tattoo guy"; when the tattoos or a tattoo defines who you are, is when you've gone overboard..
 
Don't have any unless you are from mafia (Yakuza, Russian mafia, latino gang, etc...) or some swat team or a pirate or from some tribe.
 
Damn guys, but i wanted to get pictures of cute kittens tattooed across my knuckles...so thats not ok?!

Damn, nice post Sanitarium. Anyway, OP..

I have a couple (2) tattoos. I want more, many of my friends are "ink addicts" though. I personally I think that anything that cannot be covered up by day to day clothes, is in bad taste.

Like said before, just remember that it's forever..unless you can afford laser surgery of course.

Tattoo's are supposed to be an outward expression of ones self. If you do for it any reason other than to express who you are/what you believe in..you are doing it for the wrong reasons.

It's amazing how many people in the year 2010 still have a problem with tattoos. If their favorite rockstar, moviestar, pornstar, athlete, etc. has tattoos then they see no problem but when it's the guy next door, oh no...

My custom made tattoo's tell my life story, i'm not just a little kid that puts ink on his skin just because it's cool and gets the first recycled tattoo design that he can find on the internet.
 
I have 3, 1 on my back of a mouse flipping off an eagle thats attacking and one on my fore arm that was a problem during my 'white collar' job years and 'ying' on my left chest.. my wife also has 3 a tribal(ish) band on her arm a 'tramp stamp' lol and 'yang' on her right "chest"
 
I don't have one...

I want to donate blood to a family member whenever one of them needs it :o
 
any on your face (Unless your Maori in which case they look awesome)!

Anything with tweety or cartoon characters or any that require color. I've yet to see a good looking tatoo that used color.
 
Gotta love those Tramp Stamps the young sluts all have to have!
