Targeting English Speakers in Germany

Hello, I want to target english speaking people in germany for a keyword target. For this, I bought a .de domain and prepared my content in English. I think I can go higher in Germany searches by buying a .de domain, but I'm not sure. If I choose the extension .de and prepare my content in English, will it cause confusion on the Google side? Does anyone have a work around like this and have any suggestions?

Don’t think you’ll have a problem. If you want to geotarget DE it’s worth having your hosting in DE too.
