Hi,

I have been looking at the various providers to use for SEO, SEO Paladin, Linkwheel etc and wanted to know would these be any good to UK websites that only want traffic from UK?

How would you go about targeting SEO for the UK only?

thanks.

The first step is getting a co.uk domain of course

And pay attention to your backlinks, if you just need traffic from the uk, focus on building backlinks from uk tld domains (.co.uk domains), this will show google that your audience is relevant to uk people.

Good luck buddy

Tell Google Your site is UK based
  • use a domain.co.uk
  • use a web host located in the UK
  • add a contact page with an uk address or PO Box
  • build back links from uk based websites

Key wording for local audiences
Most SEO programs such as market samurai will include 'Local Search' which is set from your target country. By Simply using ad words as a keyword finder you can also target the UK audience.

UK is a keyword
Targeting audiences are in the UK is much easier than say US as UK is not a stop word while 'us' is. So try to add UK to your page titles, if you think this will be a common search. For example if I wanted to buy a TV in the UK, or look at gardening blogs in the UK I would type in Google 'Blogs Gardening UK'
So check your keywords popularity and add UK to the page title when suitable.

Hope this helps :P

I've had great results for UK websites with Seo Paladin from thesilent. Take Polomints tips on board, but in my experience backlinks from UK based websites doesn't make much difference. I've ranked sites no1, in fact, with US hosting, as long as the webmaster tools is set to Uk.
