Do you make your affiliate links open in a new window or open in the same window?


I would imagine that there is a noticeable difference. I dont have enough traffic to split test but if someone already has I would appreciate any info.



what do you do with your affiliate links?

If it is my only product on my site, same window. If there are multiples, open it up in a new one.
 
Same window. I don't make any money from them loitering around my site like a bunch of monkeys!
 
Targetblank if you have products from different affi companies. This way your site will stay in the tabsheet.

Same window - I don't want a popup blocker slowing them down on their way to make me money.
 
Ive always used a new window but because of pop up blockers I dont anymore...
 
Good question, it depends on the situation for me do I want the user to come back and look at my page again? Or do I want the user to just give me that affiliate commission.

depends on the ad
_blank with something you want them to come back at and look
_self if you are confident in your other page doing some type of secondary reinforcement (exit consoles etc)
