Taking Things more Serious - Amazon Affiliate and Client Work

Watching your thread! Best of luck OP.

Thanks mate!

Hello Bro
How Amazon approve your sites? Are you afraid of being banned by Amazon/Google? Seems your site has a lot of pages with thin content.

Amazon seems to be just fine with that site. I already got a payment and I'm sure once they approved my site and I don't change anything they are fine with that. Google slap could happen everyday, but I'm okay with that. Just hoping for it to last as long as possible. That's why I'm currently trying to build up other sites and income streames to be able to replace that site once it get's taken down by Google.

After reading about it on @Shaunm 's blog I started to use Rescue Time on my Computer and Mobile Phone. Was very shocking to see how many time I spend on some entertainment apps where I purely waste my time. Even if I use this app at an low point where I can't work as productive, I'd value my time at least at 7$/hour. If I use that app just 5h a week I'm wasting like 150$ a month on this app. Thinking about such stuff makes me feel really mad about how I spend my time. I'll continously try to lower the time I spend on unproductive stuff and increase my productivity. Actually got quite a few good ideas I'm yet to put into action. We'll see if that works or not. I'll try to update this thread as often as I can and keep you guys updated.

Glad I could help man :).

I love Rescue Time! It kicked me right into gear :).

Thanks for sharing your journey. It's good to read.

- Your German site is still making money?
- Why you not try to invest the money to rewrite the descriptions to make it unique content? (I paid like $1 for 150 words for product descriptions).
- You also could make more sites in the same way but do other niches? You can use the same script and setup multiple sites. Just thinking out loud here.

All the best!

I love it too, all those information about my phone, windows computer and macbook in one place makes it really easy to keep track of everything :)

The site is still making money. Sitting at around 800 bucks this month.

I don't believe that it would be a good idea because currently my sites do get traffic either way and I do have more than 7000 sites with multiple products on each page, would be incredibly expensive.

I actually covered like all niches. I'm not sure whether I could find new ones to create pages about.

Really appreciate your input! :)

More than a month since my last update so I'll drop a few notes here :) Things still are running fine. I started a new project, but I'll write about that in another thread I'll open soon.

I've not done shit to the german amazon site. It was just sitting there and making money. A lot of. Closed April with 1.318,93€ and currently sitting at 1.386€ in May. Could be worse I guess :)

I started another project that was pretty similar on a smaller scale. It flopped. Brought me 3.92€, it's disappointing but I can't change it. Luckily not spent too many hours on it.

As I thought about other ways to monetize the huge amounts of traffic I get I decided to jack some likes. Got a facebook page for a new website project with ~1400 fans now. Monetizing those fans brought 16.17€ so far. I hope that this project will bring in ~200€ a month later and I'm really sure it's doable along with organic traffic.

These updates are so fucking boring, but honestly, I don't know what to write. I didn't work that much on those project but I just wanted to keep you up to date on the figures :) If you got any question, feel free to ask.

Killer! Nice!

Thanks mate :p

May is slowly coming to an end so I'll just shoot another update with some more stats and insights :) All my projects combined I'm looking at 1.821,31€ this month =) The main project that is the main part of this thread still responsible for 1.801€ of this so other projects are still slow, but it's fine.

Here are some traffic insights since the start of the year:

As you can see, traffic has been pretty stable for some time now but earnings have increased so that's okay :D

And here are the earnings:

Clicks have been growing a bit this month, but much more important: Ordered products are on a top high. I don't know why because I didn't change anything^^ Conversion rate is very good because I sell quite cheap products too. 3947 products for 5.395,23€ means that each product in average brings in 1.36€. Average product price of my sold products is 24,03€. I know usually you go for higher priced items, but you see that cheap items can make some nice money too =)

So how will I continue with this site? I'll leave it as it is and hope for it to bring in money as long as possible. Will update you on my other projects in case anything notable happens :)

impressive from where you scrape the content?

what linkbuilding was done to the site?

what metrics did the expired had for the german content?

Mainly amazon.

Linkbuilding has been done by blog comments, guestbook entries and a few weak pbn links. All pointing to the homepage.

I'm not sure right now about the metrics, TF was like 10 and DA 30 I guess, but Moz was a bit drunk to give it DA 30.

Well, I have an Amazon site with good handwritten content about 30 pages. I did not do much after that but the earning is so low. I am encouraged to go back in and work on it.

Which is the idea behind this section, to help encourage others.

Doing well @issorc .

800 bucks with scraped content is really impressive on your German site. I'm really interested to see how long this lasts. I read somewhere that Google's spam algorithms are nowhere near as sophisticated in non-english languages. This could be a very profitable way for you to find out if this is true :) Keeping my fingers crossed for you

How old is your site? Have you done any linkbuilding? Stick to it! You've already build the foundation and this is the hardest part. In the beginning, sites do not make a lot of money, but if you keep working on them they can become a really great source of passive income.

That's right! I always love reading successful journeys when I'm getting off track. Thanks mate! :)

The 1.800 bucks last month are from this site too :P I wasn't able to duplicate that success or even close to it on an english site so you're right I guess. I hope I still can ride on this wave for a few month to have startup cash for other projects :) And thanks mate :)

Yeah duh me. Missed my 1 from 1800 :) You can do it with english sites you just need to be a bit more careful. I'm a full time amazon affiliate and my sites average about $1200 a month now. It's not record breaking I know but I've grown them to this point around working full time and survived and grown during many a Google update. SEO is changing all of the time so I'm never arrogant enough to say I know everything (because the target is always moving), but if you want any tips from stuff I've learned from growing my english sites just reply mate and I'll do my best to help :)

1) It was a really cheap one with like 1$/post pricing. Not something I'd use on serious projects that are aimed at more long term goals.
2) Only organic traffic.

Thanks mate :)

Small update: 450€ for the first 10 days in June. Less than the month before but still fine.

June has completed so I'll update again. Sadly nearly all of the earnings come from the biggest project and the other ones are growing real slow. I'm aiming to build the other projects to a total of 500€/month 'til the end of the year. I'll update once I take major actions on these projects or something special happens.

Total earnings for June are 1672.15€ :)

Hey issorc, may I ask how your 2nd site doing ? does it get a lot of traffic from Google ? if so, how many uv you get daily for that site ? thank you
