Taking Online Affilate Schemes Offline?

Hey people,

Was thinking today about affiliate schemes, and was wondering if it is possible to take these offline.

As in offer them in a way that could be presented in door to door sales?

If so what would you do? Get the customer to go threw your affiliate link, maybe bring a laptop with you?

Maybe bring paperwork to have them fill in to set it up for them yourself?

I'd appreciate any thoughts ideas.. I'm pretty sure this could work, if not let me know.

Yeah it's easy - give each affiliate a unique discount code for each lead to enter when they sign up/check out

Keep it simple

There's a guy who just places lawn signs for dating sites all over different cities. Like "SanFranciscoSingles.net" on a sign and sticks in it lawns everywhere. But the sites are just affiliate redirect codes. It turned into a multimillion dollar business nationwide.

Most CPA or affiliate type of things are going to be too low payout to make door to door feasible. But things like classified ads, signs, college newspapers, etc are wide open.

As PJ413 stated above, if you have a decent amount of starting capital and some ingenuity, you can get things moving. The hot CPA items will still be hot no matter what you do.

I have a friend that does flyers for payday loans and leaves them in areas where he knows there will be people down on their luck who are needing loans. I wouldn't ever do it simply because I like sleeping at night, but he makes some great cash with this.

Also - auto insurance leadgen is perfect for those under-the-wiper flyers. I did this a while back for a bit... just a flyer that says STOP! ARE YOU PAYING TOO MUCH FOR CAR INSURANCE? with a catchy domain. Easy money.

That's pretty smart! Yeah, basically use your creativity. You probably have a higher chance of making it doing something creative like that than trying to compete with everyone else in the same pool anyway. Internet marketers and especially affiliate marketers often just end up competing against one another for slimmer and slimmer profit margins, while driving up the price of traffic. For example, PPV traffic was a fraction of a penny when it first hit the market - Now it's many times that and very few people are making much money on it.

Think of a creative way to go offline, test a few different things and you'll probably make money. The main challenge there would be scaling, as with offline you're often limited by your own geographic area. But you could do what the dating guy did and replicate or outsource the process to other offline locations. Solid strategy IMO.

I think it's a great idea. Produce weekly "junk mail" type leaflets with the website and your affiliate code for various places and go door to door, do a test run with say 1000 leaflets printed and then see after a month if your affiliate revenue increases at all, if it does then it is a good plan, do it again, if it doesn't work then no harm no foul.

Even have a link to your own affiliate website at the very bottom of the leaflet so if they do come online they can see all the offers that you are promiting and maybe make some money online and offline from affiliate marketing.

The main cost won't be the flyers... it will be your time. Prepare to spend a LOT of time walking around doing this, and in the end the hourly rate will probably be somewhat sad.

Who knows, maybe you'll meet someone's hot daughter or some MILF and get taken for a round!
