Taking my Instagram Account to the Next Level

Hi All,

I've been using Instagram automation for a little over a year now and have just hit the 20k followers mark on an Outdoors Landscape Photography Niche. (Using all my own pictures) I tend to get about 2,000 likes per post now and I'm looking for suggestions to help take my account to the next level; the 100k Followers mark. Does anyone have any recommendations apart from posting more often?

I'm looking to increase engagement, increase followers, and ultimately have a more successful personal account.

You can increase the f/u numbers which you're working on. Try changing the hashtags/users you target to see what works better.
Or you can try getting an additional boost to make yourself look more popular and those would increase the actual engagement which you receive from the users and have higher chances of getting in explore pages and making it to the top rated posts.

And if you've some money lying around, you can also try using Instagram ads to see how that works out for you.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm not really looking to go with some Instagram ads, but I'll keep that in the back of my head. Changing up the hashtags is something that I'll be doing for sure, so I'm glad someone else thought it'd help too. What sort of additional boosts were you referring to and what's the advantage of doing them? My pictures generally make it into the top posts as it stands now for the hashtags that I tend to use. What seems to be the formula for getting into the explore page? Amount of likes, comments, engagement ratio within a certain period of time?

Boosts refer to artificially increasing the numbers used paid services to increase the number of engagement you receive on your pictures to make yourself look more popular. It helps users in psychologically thinking that you/your brand is way more popular than it actually is and increases your conversions.

Yes, it does play a major role. And when you've more likes, you can target more competitive hashtags which you're unable to rank for right now and it also increases the follow rate of people who visit your profile. So, if someone visits your profile and you've 10k followers, the chances of the person following you is lesser than if you have had 100k followers.
 
Do you use Engagement Groups? I think it's the best way to grow accounts at least the easiest and cheapest way. You can also collaborate with other accounts on your niche doing shout outs for shout outs.

What's your final goal with this account?

The final goal is to get some partnerships with outdoor companies as an ambassador and eventually fund my trip to Mount Everest in a few years time. I have never used an engagement group. What all is entailed and what do they typically cost?

Probably your content is good (if you have 20k) , so I think you can begin working with some companies, maybe local first, then if you are good enough work with some other companies around your country and internationally. You get known working, so don't expect a big company employ you without any previous work for others.

The Engagement groups work fantastic and are free (well, they can make you pay, but if you are clever you don't have to). It's based on finding niche related accounts (O.L. photography in your case), probably you already know a ton of them, and write the ones which are around your same following and likes number. You ask to get into their engagement groups (be smart, don't sound needy) so when you are in the process is:

When someone post they share it into the DM group, whatsapp, telegram, whatever that group uses, so you have to go to their account and like and comment on that photo. When you post a photo you do the same, as soon as possible. That gives you likes and comments from big accounts related to your niche. Instagram sees that as a account worth to show, so your chances to get viral improve as hell!

The more Engagement groups you are the better, and if you can't find enough you always can create them and let join others :)

You can do boosts to increase your engagement. You can also do a collaboration with other accounts or partnerships with companies. Retargeting new hashtags also can help you gain more followers.

You can actually boost your posts if you have an Instagram Business profile. You can automatically boost each post by promoting it. With it, you can get more engagement and your rank will be better on your follower's feed.

My Instagram account is just a personal account. Is it beneficial to make it a business account? I take it then a boost is purchased through Instagram. What's the cost?

If your goal is to widen your reach and increase your engagement then I believe, a business account is beneficial for you. It is priced a little higher than Facebook Ads though. It may cost $5 per thousand impressions.

I don't have tips but I would come with you into that pod/engagement group if you find a good one. I am in two small groups and they have helped me a lot. (I'm way behind you at 1.5k though)
