Currently doing ORM & SEO and doing pretty well (finally enough for a nice office!). I have learned a lot from this forum, and today my business partner and I are using 7878 method to hopefully get some new clients. Took some time, but we have 25 letters ready to go. We picked a niche and attacked it locally. We used the dice and included a note with something like " Don't roll the dice with your OR"

Going to keep track and see if the larger padded envelope convert better. Will update and let everyone know what works best and what kind of results we see.



About to head out to the post office and mail them all out.

Good luck with your conversions OP!

In my opinion the size / color of the envelope only counts for the "open / throw away" conversions.

Cost $51 to send out 25 letters...not too bad! Will definitely be updating with results. Thanks for the good wishes!

good luck, some local people are not so tech savvy and may be willing to pay more since they don't know of better deals.

Try using those thick envelopes that have bubble wrap inside.

I don't think any business will be expecting advertisement to be posted using them so they will most likely open the envelope to see what's inside.

Quick update. Letters should have arrived to the businesses today. Will probably giving them a follow up call tomorrow after business hours and leaving messages. Hopefully a few pick up the phone and call me, but I have to be realistic.

Very cool, maybe you should look into that service that Fedex and UPS offer for small business. The one where they come and pick up your packages, time maximization?

Update. Got first call back today. Meeting set up for next week. Excited about the opportunity because the owner has multiple locations! I know its just a meeting and nothing is guaranteed, but I am satisfied with getting a meeting, and will do my best to close him as a client.

Got another call back. Will be setting up another meeting hopefully. Nervous for meeting in two days. Normally I feel confident but this could be a big client. All I have to say is... 7878 method works.

So here's an update:

Ended up getting 2 meetings out of 25 letters. I think I understand an error that we made when sending the letters. We were very excited to get the letters out and I don't think we did enough research in confirming who the decision maker would be and their direct address. I think we ended up NOT getting passed the gatekeeper in most cases.

So after the two meetings we sent out two proposals. One for ORM and one for local internet marketing. So far... not a great response. One has not responded, and the other is not happy with the pricing.

This is what I will say. I know that this method works because when things worked... they worked great. They both commented that the dice stuck out and that they liked it. Also, for $50 dollars I got two face to face meetings. I will take this all day. And now that I've done it once I think I will mix in a little bit of Netmoneys food twist.

All this being said. I'm going to give it another go. Will let you know how it goes!
