Tags Appears in Search Engine, Whats The Problem?

Hello, Can Someone tell me why is that all the post on my blog appears in search engines contains the tags and categories and not the exact post name on it? Sample, I am Creating a post in my website like www.yourwebsite.com/postname under the category something like "news", then when it indexed by google, it shown as www.yourwebsite.com>category name or www.yourwebsite.com/tag/blahblah

im using SEO YOAST on it and tried to wait for couple of days then transfered to ALL in One SEO plugin but still thesame, but when i checked it on BING or other search engines, it appears as www.yourwebsite.com/nameofpost

is theres something wrong on plugins i am using or it is on the themes i am using?

use robot.txt file to deny tags.

I think he means the image you attached to your post, but I've checked it myself and the website URL is unreadable.

Anyway, You might want to block your /tags/ directory via robots.txt like other user have already said in order to prevent Google from indexing and therefore showing in the results these pages.

It's natural that the tags appear because they are indexed by Google as well.

the tags appeared on search engines but the link url of the post is not appearing. lol

I suggest don't use Tag's OR if you want to use tags the just made them nofollow/no-index...

The tags page gets updated more regularly and has the correct keyword density etc to show up higher in the serps. Have you built links to the actual post, submitted it to social media sites?

its not just the tags, also the CATEGORIES.. Dunno why is that happening, all post on google search engines are appearing only in domain.com/categories but its showing correctly on bing and yahoo search engines

Ha ha now he is trying to pretend it is not his site.

If you use wordpress, most seo plugins allow you to noindex tags and other shit. This makes it easy if you do not know much about websites. I guess you have limmited knowledge by your question, so I wouls suggest a plugin like ultimate seo to make it easy.

You should set archives, categories and tags as noindex so your post pages are the only ones with your content to display.

Ditch tags and categories and use static pages. Google used to love Wordpress but the new algo updates don't favor it at all.

Just to make it clearer as I'm not sure how much knowledge you have. When people are saying ditch tags, the offending object is a tags widget in on your display layout.

If you have things like tag-cloud, and categories and archive (for ease of navigation) google in all its majesty takes each of these links and assumes its a new post. Sometimes the tag link, or category link can be placed higher in the serps than your actual post.

To prevent this you could no follow the widget tags, but this does not stop other people linking to that "version" of your content. What I would do is remove all of these offending widgets because they mess up your layout as well as any silo-ing you might want to achieve.

You could have a related content widget if you really feel you need one but I would find another way.

The problem is with the settings for SEO Yoast plugin. Just watch a couple of videos or tutorial on how to setup Yoast.
