Tagging Famous People On Instagram

Hey Fam,

Lately I've been seeing a bunch of IGers tagging a bunch of famous people. Can someone help me explain why IGers are starting to do this?

Just plain business sence , there hoping the famous person add them to there groups/ pins then telling others who on there list gain rep.

If they got a business going and can say famous so so is with us aswell or linked with us maybe boost business sales.

Don't say anything if you have no clue what you're talking about.
 
According to some, it helps them get to the explore page. I've not tried it so I can confirm.
 
How does it help ? anyone care to clarify please. If I mention lets say justin bieber he gets a note that I tagged him. But other then that ??

Is there a limit of people you can tag?
 
If they like it it can get tons of likes I guess? I never tried it but looks like it may have worked before although now its spammed as hell and looks really bad and probably affects your account in bad ways
 
I recently saw a business page that tagged @nike and a bunch of others, they have a lot of followers and little following, perhaps it someone helps bring new engagement..?
 
Some people say that it is a factor in getting on the explore, but I haven't personally tested it
 
You can get traffic from the page that shows everything a celebrity is tagged in.
 
This is just a guess but maybe it is because it shows up in the "photos of @.." section of the celebrities account.

So some people go to this section and see those photos that spammers are tagging them in.
 
All of these replies, but no one that knows has given a specific reason as to why it is done. Hopefully, the ones in the know will shed some light.
 
This has been discussed previously - it simply puts your post at the top of everyone's feed, which in turn, boosts engagement.

It hasn't been released as to WHY it works (worked?)
 
just a DREAM :D .. Nothing Happens. As long as the Famous People you tagging Engage on That POST :D
 
I marked major players after seeing a post from 8k likes that actually did the same. I copied his tags and mentions and it got me zero while we still have sale niche and very sort like picture. I would expect atleast some engagement instantly from doing that but guess not haha ..
