Hey everyone, I’ve been trying to scale an ad arbitrage site using Taboola and Outbrain to drive traffic to viral content pages. My CTR on the widgets is decent, but the traffic cost is eating up all my AdSense / revenue margins. I’m stuck at a negative ROI right now. For those doing native ad arbitrage, are you focusing heavily on specific mobile OS targeting, or just banking on catchy clickbait angles? Looking for general advice on how to optimize native campaigns.

i think you can try testing different audiences and content angles and also focus on quality traffic and ROI not just cheap clicks.

Test different headlines and images, but watch the revenue after the click too. A high CTR is not useful if those visitors leave quickly.

Check which publishers are sending poor traffic and stop spending on the ones that bring clicks but little revenue.

native arbitrage definitely feels tighter than it used to

i'd look at the landing page and revenue per session before trying to squeeze another few cents out of the CPC.

hi i think you can try testing different ads or devices and placements because it stop the ones losing money and keep what works.

Yeah i think testing different audiences or creatives and content angles is the best approach because optimize based on your data to find profitable segments.

I would test OS and placements first. High CTR means nothing if the traffic isnt making enough revenue after the click.

if you're just sending native traffic to a single article page you're going to lose money every time. you need to paginate the content... like a 3 or 4 page slideshow so you get multiple pageviews and ad impressions per session. also look at your ad layout on mobile. if the adsense blocks aren't immediately visible above the fold and nested right in the content, your rpm will stay in the gutter no matter how cheap the taboola clicks are.

margins on ad arbitrage are pretty thin right now and getting tighter, CPCs on Taboola and Outbrain have gone up while AdSense RPMs in most niches haven’t kept up.

Check the revenue you are getting from each visitor first. If each visitor is earning very little, cutting the traffic cost alone may not be enough to make the campaign profitable.

Maybe check revenue per visitor before changing the creatives. Cheap clicks wont help much if users leave fast.
