We are thinking about switching several niche sites into subdomains of our main company website. We have one product that can be used in different niches. So, instead of having company.com and restaurantniche.com, we would do restaurant.company.com.
We want to do this for branding, so that we can still have the niche sites, but connected to our main brand. Will this hurt SEO if we do 301 redirects to the new subdomain? Any examples of sub domain driven sites that rank well?
