Switching domain for rank + adsense reset?

So I have this domain that has been continuously doing worse over the years google-index and also adsense-wise.

My guess the content - while clean - is not the best of content for google.

Does it still make sense these days to switch to another domain to kinda "enforce" a reset? Or will this just not improve anything?

If you have regular visitors, something you can do to increase your AdSense earnings is to redesign the site a bit or at least move the AdSense banners around a bit. If they are always at the same place, the regular visitors develop banner blindness and learn to look at the parts of the site that contain the info they want. Their brains filter out the ads and they become less likely to click them leading to decreased earnings. But if you change the positions a bit, they start noticing the ads again and click them a bit more.

Of course, this does not apply to new visitors coming from search as they are not used to your site's design yet. Still, unusual banner placements might still help your AdSense earnings a bit. My personal experience shows that placing the largest banner possible as high as possible boosts AdSense earnings. Banners that are below the useful content are next to useless, but banners in the middle of the content tend to do better.

Additionally, with AdSense, you can always expect a drop in earnings in January as some advertisers decrease their spending after the holidays.

Ranking, but it also affects AdSense due to decrease in impressions = yield.
