Switch my main domain to forwarding domain?

Will I lose all my link building if I switch my website to a forwarding domain to another new domain?

My current domain has the year in it since it's an annual event, but I want to switch to a standard to domain so I don't have to do a new domain every year.

BUT I also don't want to lose all my links.

Any help here?

You can do a 301 and the links will transfer but you will have to keep the URL if you want to keep the links. Also, the juice is a bit diluted.
