Switch from wordpress static home to blog style? Negative SEO/SERP drops??

Has anyone made the change from Static home page to blog feed home? Have any stories about SERPs tanking? My website could really use the constantly updated blog feed style. I switched my homepage/site title a couple months ago and am just recovering from sandboxing. This change frightens me because of possible google trust and ranking loss. Anyone experienced in this matter?
