Switch a YouTube channel by changing its language and category

Hey everyone, I run multiple channels and want to buy one with around 200K subscribers, built mostly through short-form content. I’ve posted about 40 shorts, some of which have gone viral. The channel focuses on wildlife and nature content in Spanish, but I’m thinking of shifting to outdoor content in English. The channel still gets a good amount of daily views. i want to switch to create a legit community.


Do you think I can transition without having a dead channel ?

Changing content shouldn't kill the channel, if the channel has overall views your new content will also perform well, however keep in mind when you change content, for a few weeks you may see subscribers declining or the views taking a while to hit in because youtube is resetting your channel content and suggesting it to the new viewers. Just keep uploading and be consistent for a month or two, mostly you will see results.

My personal opinion, it will kill the channel. Imagine if Mr. Beast starts to create videos in vietnamese without any option to translate it to English

Your audience speaks Spanish, if you want to have a channel in English, create a new one
