Hi.

I'm really curious how you fight chargebacks on when running sweepstakes with subscriptions? I've seen the disclaimers and terms like "you are buying a exclusive annual membership" "the products displayed are prizes you might win and youre paying for an ebook and tickets" and you have to tick that youve fully read and accepted the terms etc.

Does this really help anything as proof to the banks for any chargeback reasons?

Those disclaimers mostly protect u on paper, not emotionally. banks dont read long terms, they care what the customer thinks they bought. if user says “i thought it was a one-time thing” u’re already on thin ice.

checkboxes + clear wording do help for friendly fraud, esp if ur flow is clean n not misleading. but if the offer looks even slightly shady, banks side with user.

best defense is clarity. price shown clearly, “subscription” written big, reminder emails, easy cancel. that reduces chargebacks more than legal text ever will.
