Suspended and seized domain

Hello everyone

recently due to a court order some of my domains, hosted on different hosts were suspended and seized. The hosts in question include orange, which being an offshore host does not usually cooperate with whistleblowers.

However, I was told that when it comes to court orders with domain seizure there is nothing they can do.

However, I have seen some domains in the order (not owned by me) have not been suspended.

Does anyone have any idea how this is possible?

It all depends on registrar and domain agency that manage specific TLD, if it's .com domain for example feds will just go directly to company that handles it.
You should just use domains TLD that were not banned, all domain registrars must follow laws of their country formation

The NON suspended domain are .co and .io both protected by icann regulations, one registrar is namesilo which is not offshore and usually cooperates with reports.

There is no domain tld which can resist court orders, some may delay the process but if they are behind your domain it will be down.

A domain registrar pretty much does not care about you. If they receive a court order they will comply.
Now, that is correct regarding a court order which is issued in the same country as the domain registrar is operating from, exceptions might be EU and USA courts, which no one wants to mess with.
If the domains which are not seized are not .com (or any tld which is operated by a company/organization out side usa/eu), they might ignore the order or they just did not comply YET. If it's a 3rd world country it might be ignored completely.
I operate my company (selling domains/hosting) outside USA/EU but I will definitely comply with USA/EU court order.

Next time, don’t host such content on your server. It’s the safest. Include a disclaimer too about that.
Something like, the owner of this domain is on a vacation. If you want to contact us about the content here, sorry you can’t. Then add something like, we are not hosting any content here. Thank you for understanding.
Don’t use exact word.
