Surprising Result While Searching For A Golden Keyword

Hello BH Friends, Straight to the point, I was searching for some keywords and got surprised when I checked a Keyword "Best Seo Company", The site ranking at no 1 is just having 12300 backlinks, Domain age is 3 months and page rank is 0. Keeping in mind that the keyword is getting 6600 exact searches a month and with very high competition.
Now My question is , How did that site come at No 1?
You all know the potential of this keyword, I shared the keyword openly as I am not going for it.
Also guide me , if I am wrong in my research. I am in learning phase so your input will be appreciated.

Well, there are many factors that depends on SEO. That guy should have done some quality backlinks to his main site .... and that is why he is there

I will be glad seeing you there rather than an unknown guy , banking from the keyword.

That's not quality lol that is pure spam! Churn and burn style, so expect him to drop in few days/weeks

"Just" 12K backlins for 3 months... Wait until the next penguin

I don't check fully results but you're missing somethings there:It's PR is #3 currently. #4 page 1. I think it is not so hard to rank the site if the site has 3 month ages. I saw other competitors on the first page: there're only PR3 and PR0. So are there tricks if so?
