Hi BHW,

Thinking of picking up a Surface Pro 3

What do you guys think of it? I'm digging a lot of options that it offers.

I've used it and really liked it and am planning on buying one unless I hear of an updated version as good as SP3 coming out soon enough.

Also waiting for some serious HD and memory expansion on all tablets. It will happen some day, right?

I have it. It's pretty handy when you need the convenience. It works pretty good too, but what you're really paying for is the convenience. If you're looking for anything else like performance, then it'll be much cheaper to get a laptop.

I'd prefer a Nexus personally, even add a keyboard if need.

But that's more OS, than anything.

I really Like it.

Did they add 4G capability to those yet? last time I went to go get one they did not have 4G yet, so I did not get it.

Yeah, there's 4G and Wifi, but you can choose to simply have the Wifi version.

my m8t lend one to me for 2 days, was quite nice and fast, but the battery life was just 6h regular use and 2h power use, even less then most common laptops

Hmm...

Doesn't sound to convincing... Feel like MacBook Air can compete with it...

It's a pretty close fight actually! It just boils down to which OS you like the most. Oh, and also whether you like using your tablets.

mac air isnt a tablet, so it doesnt have the advantages of a tablet vps a laptop, eg touchscreen, it takes in crowded situations double the space and cant be used propperly while standing

Maybe in phones there is competition but in tablets iPad is the king.

Ipad is maybe the King but for a lot of sites you still need Flash - and that is an area where the IPad sucks!!

K.

I've used the RT version and think the whole Surface Tablet generation is epic, didn't fancy it much at first but that changed when I actually used it.

That being said, I would have to be shitting money left and right to get one of these as for me it's just not worth the money. I would have no practical use for it to make the huge expenditure worth it.

I'd love to get one some day. But for now I have the Asus Transformer book t100.

It's REALLY good for the price. I got mine refurb for $200.
