Support from family/friends

Hey guys im just curious what kind of reaction you guys got from your friends/family when you first started IM. It seems when i tell them about what im doing they just write it off as something that im going to only be doing for a week, or they see it as some scam and dont believe in the fact that i want to make a decent income off of this. It makes it hard to stay motivated when everyone close to me doesnt support/believe in what i do

My mom was rather upset, sister didn't care/made jokes, and my dad was skeptical but still kinda ok with the idea (he's very open minded about everything). Most friends/people I talked to were curious but mighty skeptical.

I know how it is though, if you want to do something and firmly believe in it, but no one wants to support you. Turn it into motivation instead, think of what they'll say when you succeed, what kind of a feeling it's going to be, and how they'll treat you and your ideas in the future ;)

Most people in general don't believe in IM, so it's nothing to worry about. If there's no one to support you at first, do it alone. It's a tough game but the rewards are way, way better than working a regular job and living a regular life. The whole journey will only make you better.
 
If they support you, great.:
If they don't, that should act as further motivation for you to succeed... make them eat their words! :)
 
Well I started this journey full time after I had to take a break from school. I really want to get back into it but this time without wasting my parent's money.

At first they were really pissed. They wanted me to stay in school and get a degree. I had to convince them hardcore. I told them that I respect them, and so I cannot waste their time and money. I told them that if I go back to school right now I won't be able to learn a single thing and will probably do bad again. So I asked them to support me in my business ventures for this semester, give me some time off from school and let me learn about the real world from experience.

They were mad for about a day, but then they gave me their full support.

Although there's a perfectly valid reason for that: 99% (percentage pulled out of my ass) fail and never make anything worthwhile. Your dead-end 9-to-5 might not be anything to write home about, but at least it will pay for your living without being a gamble. If you sit on your computer 15 hours a day and make $10 it's not exactly anything to call worth it.

This being said, I didn't do IM back when I was still in contact with my family, but even if I did I bet they couldn't care for shit, as long as I was able to pay for my own living without leeching off of them.
 
Just lock yourself in your room and never leave, that way you can wank yourself silly and you never have to see your family again.
 
When I started SEO I already had well-payed 5/8 job.I left my job only after I began to earn online about 2 times more. So noone f my friends and relatives did care.


As Oukast said above there's huge chance you will fail online. Most newcomers fail. So for a noob leaving full-time job is quite stupid decision imo, unless you have fat savings or your job is so shitty that you can go back to the same position any time.
 
I got negative reaction from my Family until i got my first transaction. Nut now they don't say anything.
 
I think they expected it. I've always had a computer-related job. My mom says I'm the only one she knows that can make money in bed ;) She doesn't know that many prostitutes...
