There is a lot of mixed info about supplements. Some say they are helpful, others say they can do more harm then good. Do you take supplements? If so, which one(s) and how has it helped?

Part of my BSc covered health science and about half of the topics I teach are health and nutrition focused

Supplements
Most are no better than snake oil
Some do more harm than good
Some are useful when there's a genuine deficiency, often caused by genetic malfunctions, such as a poor ability to absorb.
Some illnesses and medication can cause a deficiency which supplements can fill
Also in later years when our ability to synthesize or absorb certain essentials diminishes

If you already have good absorption, overdoing it with mineral supplements is like throwing lumps of rock and metal at your liver
The nearest I get is probiotics. I would say they're by far the most important. They're not a miracle cure and need to be taken daily for full benefit
Gave up with the dickgrow when it got to my knees

Marketing is all smoke and mirrors. They discuss the importance of said ingredients in great detail
Then they say how good and pure their shit is. leaving us to make the link.
They don't actually say their supplement will do all we assume, simply because if they do, they'd have to show proof

True that!

I used to take a bunch. Most are snake oil. Did nothing for me. But you go online and they have 1000's of 5* reviews saying it changed lives. Ever look @ alex jones store? Maybe my body is different. My stack is Vit B complex. And 50mg Zinc. Highly recommend zinc for every man w/ a sex life. Never eat it on an empty stomach you will get sick.

I had blood lab done & it said my B levels were very low. The supplements do help with more energy. I used to be tired for no reason a lot. Zinc makes your loads 10x bigger. :D

Your gf/wife must be very happy :D

The only 2 supplements you should take outside of going to the gym would be Vitamin D3 and Zinc and possibly omega oil.

Vitamin D3 increases testosterone levels if you have deficiency (which over 60% of the population does due to not spending enough time getting sunlight), Zinc increases your test drive (you will notice a BIG difference trust me.) and testosterone, omega oil helps a lot with joints and a few other stuff, although I notice it mostly due to gym when squatting

Used to take 4 fat strippers a day for 6 months and If it was nothing more than placebo it worked for me. I was involved in a car crash and was unable to walk for a fair amount of time, it ended my fighting career.

I flew up in weight to 27stone / 171KG (from 16stone / 101KG - I was a heavy weight fighter but lean used to hit the gym every day and squat and press like there was no tomorrow) all I would do is lie down eat shit, drown in self pity and drink.

Fast forward a 12 months or so and we have a child on the way decided I didn't want to be fat anymore and started to swim I found energy to be hard so I stumbled upon fat strippers think it was Maximuscle I used to take, the caffeine in them helped give me a boost and I believed what they promised I started to swim every day for an hour and within a few months I was hitting 4-6miles every morning in the pool I dropped 10 stone / 63kg in 7 months no doubt it was the swimming but I put it down to taking the fat strippers that helped me get the boost.

I've managed to keep that weight off for the past 9 years. I float 18-19stone now 114KG-120KG I've been focusing on weights so not all of that is what Id consider to be fat! I'm back in the gym this week after a break (son started school so I have more free time) I'm aiming to drop a few more KG and get to my old fighting weight maybe a bit lighter.

I've not taken any fat strippers since I stopped swimming I've not taken anything else since, when I was fighting I never used to take anything like that either just eat rice, fish and lean chicken.

I had hard time believing you took four fat strippers a day until I got to the middle of your post and realized you were talking about weight loss pills.

I take one nootropic when necessary, but not regularly.

Daily I supplement iodine and turmeric. I also use some probiotics on occasion.

It could all be placebo, but I notice a difference in my well being.

This is what I was taking although the name has changed now https://www.maxinutrition.com/thermobol/ or similar anyway. Used to take the weekends off and every 5th week.

omega 3 fish oil is one of the few with proven clinical studies I believe.
or just eat fish regularly like my friend Teddy.

Zinc benefits sound great. Also, magnesium is supposed to help calm the Monday and body. What would be your opinion on ZMA?

Really depends on your goal... Health/Well being or performance / gym? If you need any help PM me. I am bodybuilder and have been training for over a decade now. Ive taken probably everything thats on the market lol
