Super pricing on VPS's

i signed up with these guys

due to tropheum's thought they were good


Im going to keep the VPS as Im happy with it

but in terms of getting everything set up and working when you order

they are as slow as paint drying


in terms of answering support emails they are even slower


so if you know everything and are prepared to wait on them - all is good but its sure not like using alot of other places.

The download area is illegal! What if someone decides to take action against it?

4 days and then they made a mistake

and took another day to fix it

5 days before I could actually use it.
 
What's the practical difference between Xen (Crucial Paradigm) and openvz (volumedrive)?

I tried to write more in this post, but it "triggered moderation" and I was blocked.

Look at package 3, how can they offer 3GHz Dedicated CPU and 2GB Memory for $14.95.

If that is correct however they may well have a new customer!

Just got my server up and running-that was pretty fast! There's an option to install cpanel in the veportal, I donno if installing a cpanel is allowed though! I'm a total noob at linux and I'm still figuring out how to add a domain! lol
 
I signed up for the cheapest vps these guy offer and while it took a day to get the server from them i was very happy with the server it was fast and for the price you cant complain


i have now cancelled the first vps i got from them and have ordered the next package up for the 2 ip addresses and i added cpanel i also contacted support and got a email back from them within 2 minutes i think there support is very good if you email them at the right time.

they are across the road from burst (literally), shoot them an email for a speed test link

I got one of these and must say it is pretty fast. Actually it's much faster than a vps i'm paying more than twice as much for. This is too good of a deal to pass up.

burstnet is such a pain. I recommend to stay away especially if you are doing ANYTHING even remotely blackhat. They give you a few days to respond and make up some BS like you outsourced some projects and didn't know what they were doing and they will put you back up but if you get even a complaint from then on they delete everything.

Have not tried volumedrive but have heard very mixed reviews about them. Seems to be either love it or hate it. I think I will give it a try next month.
 
vd use hostnoc/bustnet/whatever other damm names they have for bandwidth but they have their own AS and ip allocations and you deal direct with them on complaints, i wont deny iv had my share of complaints but all the requests have been reasonable, never had the plug pulled on a box or lost data or anything like that, theyv been nothing but great to work with
 
Hi i have a vps with volumedrive

Pros
servers are fast
cheap

cons
servers seem to drop the connection randomly about 4 times a day (so if you are just webhosting that is not a problem but if you need a connection open 24/7 to the server then you will have problems)

servers seem to go down for about an hour every couple of days like last night it went down for 1 and a half hours and it wasnt just my vps blackhatworld was down aswell and the volumedrive website and this seems to happen every couple of days

support is bad they will take at least a day to reply normaly


so all in all they are good if you want a cheap vps to host your websites on but not much else

so i will be moving to another host in hope to get a good stable connection

last night vd had two 110amp 208v breakers blow that ran their ac units, when the dc hit 120 degrees the core router shutdown, they are putting in redundant breakers on the ac units to stop this from happening again, ever tried talking to them about your problems? they will fix basically anything if you tell them whats going on
 
@trophaeum i am interested in 2x4, do they have an english language site?

contact minad on icq (the uin is on the frontpage of the site), the admin panel has english, not sure what else does, i normally just talk to minad to sort out what i need, he's great to deal with and will give you your options when you explain what you want, if you intend to use them, hide NOTHING that you intend to do, tell them EVERYTHING, they will give you what options you have then for it all
