Ryan, I'm sorry, but your comment doesn't make sense either with wireshark. His website is never pinged unless you try and update the proxy list or something like that. (Of course you have to remove his site from the list of sites, or the first one will be his)
Current news, your idea makes sense. You wouldn't get any linux or mac visitors in there (unless of course you start on one of those, then you don't get windows visitors) but, the key you mention, is you have to have the alexa toolbar going. This program does NOT do that.
Unless, all that alexa does to "see" a visit, is to ping alexa.com with the domain being visited. Then that could be done very easily with a program, with no bandwidth really being used. But, the supplied program, only does that once.
I'll open wireshark and and install the toolbar and see if the alexa toolbar sends the same request. If so, I can whip something up in a couple of minutes that rotates through proxies and just pings alexa with the domain you are trying to increase.
