Do you think this would improve Google Rankings, due to the risen popularity, or will they punish the site because of it's huge bounce rate?

No....

Google measure your relevancy to Keywords.
Google also measure's there engine by how high your Alexa Ranking is positioned.

Alexa means more Google Indexes....

Statement redacted.

When running this program and using a network packet sniffer, nothing was happening.

Update the list with fresh proxies, and it sends a simple TCP request for the one page (no supporting images, javascript, etc) to the target URL.

If this works for you, you would have to have fresh proxies in there. I think the program could be improved tons, but checking if the proxy is valid in a multi threading situation, then additionally calling all dependent web URLs inside a page via a referrer as the original page.

Also, a major update to the User-Agent needs to be done. No one uses firefox 2.0 anymore and ie 7 and 8 aren't in the list, let alone the iphone, chrome and opera 9.

there's a download link for the curious, it is free... google packet sniffer, there are tons of free and open source ones out there.

Sorry, someone needs to explain this better that speaks english.

I am watching the packet sniffer, it tries the first couple of proxies, then it just stops, but the graphic shows it keeps going. Would the developer be interested in sharing some source code? Something is bombing out on this.

Additionally, how would this increase the alexa rank? This pings your website...

That puts a ping in your httpd logs. Alexa doesn't have access to that. How would they know if this proxy pinged your site or not? Am I missing something obvious?

So that's what it is doing. It starts the request, it is still downloading the files, but switches the proxies. So, I had it at a slow speed, and it used two proxies, for one request. I had this one really fast, and it used 9 different proxies for one request.

It also, changes the referer agent. Look at that, it has two different browsers for the same person, from the same request. That I'm sure looks legitimate. Might be enough to fool some bots, but that looks like a garbage request to me.

Sorry, this is really bothering me. I think there is potential here, but this is just trash.

yes man it is trash do not used it plz :)

actually this software does not work, i've tried (hard luck)
but tricks like firefox addons like Reloadevery and foxyproxy, you set any reloadevery to 10sec or 1m and just let it gets reload by itself with alexa sparky addons enable. it rocks, simply awesome tricks, but as for me i used hidemyip as proxy and enable alexasparky and open site that i want to boost my alexa ranking in new tab, right from the context menu i choose reloadevery to 1m and left it open while i work in another window. and there your alexa goes up the ranking which also means more revenue coming my way, BHW members thanks for sharing such a wonderful tips, maybe someone will appreciate this help of mine i have explain in short. if any question send me a pm. i will explain

It will boost http://www.alexa.lr2b.com/
not your site. Tested and proven by creator itself.
It says hundreds, but nothing come up to my links (may be just a few).
So, it actually drive traffic to lr2b.com
Just my 2 cents :p

Version 1.10 soon , little better and use less memory and moreuser-agent
I have test it for 3 days and alexa became Update my site twice a day:rolleyes:
I will explain more of the program because many users used in wrong way

The author sends me a PM and tells me how this works is a secret because it can be used for good, or for bad and to close sites.

Ryan, I'm sorry, but your comment doesn't make sense either with wireshark. His website is never pinged unless you try and update the proxy list or something like that. (Of course you have to remove his site from the list of sites, or the first one will be his)

Current news, your idea makes sense. You wouldn't get any linux or mac visitors in there (unless of course you start on one of those, then you don't get windows visitors) but, the key you mention, is you have to have the alexa toolbar going. This program does NOT do that.

Unless, all that alexa does to "see" a visit, is to ping alexa.com with the domain being visited. Then that could be done very easily with a program, with no bandwidth really being used. But, the supplied program, only does that once.

I'll open wireshark and and install the toolbar and see if the alexa toolbar sends the same request. If so, I can whip something up in a couple of minutes that rotates through proxies and just pings alexa with the domain you are trying to increase.

Interested to see what you come up with.
Cause at this point, This program is actually dragging up Alexa Rankings.

Don't know what's in store for the update.
But it would have to be a drastic update where we get the 15,000 hits.
And also can get those 15,000 in an hours time.

pwnphpbb ,It is called Private Messages :)
Hope if any one finding the program useful to continue to use and if find it useless please delete it
end the story
Ryan, my Program does not send visits to my site, Unless you want to and this will be a nice:listen:

Yeah, it's called a Private Message of let me try and keep that my program is a hoax private.

Tell us all publicly... it's just a hoax to try and gain reputation here? Or it kicks on a virus later? I can't find the latter in the program anywhere. So I assume it's just the first.

A full explanation of how alexa toolbar actually works and how it could be manipulated, I just made a post at
http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/black-hat-seo-tools/130814-how-alexa-tool-bar-actually-works-development-ideas.html

Alexa rankings are surely the only metric that genuinely has less use than pagerank to anyone outside of a total novice?
