Suggestions needed for selling a WP Blog

Hi Bhatters,

This is my first site am looking to sell. it is not a very old one though. I have been around here for quite a long time but was too lazy to respond lol.. actually too ignorant to respond to so many experts here.

Now I have a wordpress blog self hosted with a .info domain name. It is focused on technology(actually a specific topic).

It has total of 15 posts out of which 11 are articles and others are videos. All articles are 100% unique and I have managed to get some backlinks from PR 7 and so sites. some of my posts also list in first page for specific search terms and it gets about 100 unique visits everyday.

Now I am looking for help in deciding the price for it. can anyone here help me?


And the domain name is pretty good one with exact topic in it. I mean its something like a small variation of "information technology" is the domain name if my topic is information technology.

I still have another 15 unique articles lined for that site.

Another advice I need is in this regard that - should I post these articles and sell it or sell it in the present state or should I offer to post some of the articles for high PR sites like ezine and suite101 and point relevant backlinks?

I am looking to sell, true, but before I go ahead with it, I need some advice with what price to fix and where to list it for sale. I know there are some sites lke flippa but they have a listing fee and at my present state I cannot pay to list my site solely because my paypal is empty and my local cards I generally use are not compatible with the payment methods listed anywhere including paypal.

From what I've seen on flippa, people can generally sell websites for 8-12 times what It can bring in a month so if the site isn't making money yet it might be hard to sell. I could definitely be wrong, but that's just what I've noticed.

It is making but quite less. And I am not sure of what it is making because I like a fool have used the same adsense code on all of my blogs. So I am not sure which one is making how much

But I am sure it is a profitable keyword. It is very popular today and that is the technology of future and most are new to it and so many are searching for it.

Well nothing to hide its about cloud computing. This site can also be used to promote cloud hosting but I am not so good at promoting affiliate products.

Now with this further information can you help me with a price??

If you can't afford to list it on Flippa and you can't track the revenue, then your best bet is Digital Point. You'll probably get about $30 for it, the .info doesn't help for resale.

oh okay.. I d rather keep it than sell in that case as all the content is unique and the content it self would be worth atleast $90 for all the 30 articles I have for it including the ones I used to get backlinks.

So now any advice for me to make this more worthy of sale?

What is the pagerank of your blog and how about traffic of your site?

If the site is not making money but it is built with a professional wordpress theme and targets a profitable niche - you can expect to get about $150 to $300 depending on how well you write the sales letter. I have consistently flipped week old blogs (.com or .org ) for $297 - .info domain would fetch little less

Its PR is 0 and alexa is 1,372,000..

As I said I get about 100 uniques visits a day..

According to google webmaster tools, it has 12 backlinks and an average of 100 uniques per day.

And yes the theme is a free one but looks premium.

Here is a just a little advise from me.

1. Listen to what Meathead has to say on this subject as I am pretty sure he is the "Resident Expert" LOL on theis subject.

2. Get a .com instead of the .info. Everyone thinks of .info as spammy.

3. Change the adsense code so you can track how much that website is making.

4. If you don't need to sell it, keep building it up. Get it to where it is making a steady couple of hundred per month. You seem to be able to take action and update it with new content. Keep building backlinks and get it ranked for as many things as you can.

Once it is making a few hundred per month, or whatever you goal would be with it, then you are set for it to pay for your hosting and domains, and even a little advertising if you want.

That is just a few tips from me. Hope it helps.

Def. change adsense code first thing and start tracking sites revenue. People buy sites that either earn $$ or get traffic ( or both ). Work on these 2 things and then you can sell the site. You dont NEED to get a different domain but the .info will not sell for as much as a comparable .com/.net/.org would
