Suggestions needed between AMD and Intel..........

So i am looking to buy a desktop and have like $1200 budget.....read some i5 reviews and they seemed promising but its the AMD FX 8350 which caught my eye.....i am not into gaming and stuff but still need a powerful PC....suggest me plz......also heard that AMD processor get heated pretty quickly and not last long is this true?
going to buy keeping all the SEO tools available on this planet lol plus other IM tools...

i know but not the best i7...........i can get the best i5 also need 16GB Ram and a good chassis...
 
I'd suggest Intel. Also check the specifications on the official site. Don't buy it just because it's an i7, I can show you anytime i5's which are much better than an i7. Dig a little deeper, there are i5's with 2 cores and i5's with 4 cores.

Unlike the others, I prefer AMD. I got this 6 core AMD from Amazon:

AMD FX-6300 6-Core Processor Black Edition

I just built my PC, so obviously I'm not going to run into issues with this CPU. But my experience thus far is really good. You can also check the reviews on Amazon.

Before this AMD CPU, I had another one, I also never ran into issues with it either. I did have to add thermal paste one time after like 6 years of use, but that is normal.

For the price and quality of the CPU , you can't go wrong, from my experience with AMD.

The FX-8350 is the bug brother of the CPU I have, and from the looks of the reviews it got on Amazon, it's pretty damn good , especially for that price.
 
Can anyone tell me more about SSD's?

they seem very costly but i found a hybrid SSHD by seagate which seems to be in my budget...

Well SSD has no moving parts compared to your standard HDs. With an SSD everything you have on it,(programs,OS and etc...) will load much faster. What I have on my PC is and SSD where I install my programs and OS and a standard HD to put pictures and any other files.

Get a small SSD of like 250GB and a standard HD of like 1 TB depending on your needs of course.

Highly recommended, things load up extremely fast with my setup. I also bought it on Amazon.

You are right i should get 1TB standard and one 250GB SSD that will really help me...
 
I am running an AMD FX 8350 in the desktop I built. I've had it for over 8 months now... The only issue I've had with my computer is sometimes there's a slight freeze after I click between too many applications. It lasts for about 3 seconds then catches back up. I can't tell you if it's the CPU or not, but looking back, I probably should have gone with the Intel.
 
I recommend Intel. I don't think you need an i7, the i5 is a great choice, with 8+ gigs of ram, and don't even think about not buying an 60GB+ SSD for the operating system.

My first guess would be the RAM, but I could be wrong.
 
What about LED monitors........i heard Viewsonic and BenQ are really good but the only problems is that there are no service stations over here in my city :(
 
I'm writing you from a desktop I built in January this year.

AMD FX-8350 8 Cores

The f'n thing is a rocket. Best thing I did was add a SSD hard drive and a shit ton of RAM mammaries. I can have 180 windows open, run 20 bots, spill beer and coffee all over it and it just keeps going.

My Vote AMD - I see zero justification for Intel's high ass prices.

yea i have seen some blowing review for the FX-8350 btw how much RAM and what Chassis are you using?

as you can see my requirements are not gaming but i know that gaming machines are the last thing you need...also what M/B you used this processor with?

One thing I learned from using AMD processors is they run very hot. So I bought a big gaming enclosure just for the proper cooling, not for gaming. It's a cooler master tower and has fans everywhere. Also I build my own PC's, always. So I use lots of high quality thermal paste under the CPU. I also like to take out the chipset cooler and verify it. The factory guys often put a tiny bit of thermal paste and that's it : lots of chipsets burned out there.

I bought 32 Gig RAM, it's the maximum my motherboard will load up and use. Memory and a SSD drive do more for speed than the processor alone.

I don't do games at all. This is strictly a work machine.

I got 23 inch Dell IPS LED, image quality is really nice and clear.
