Hey,

Was wondering if it is possible to make the default search option in BHW search as "Most Recent" rather than "Relevancy" (What it is set to right now)

Almost every search I've done on BHW, I am looking for content based on recency. Even if it is something posted a year ago - I am happy to scroll back a few pages using the pagination.

The problem with Relevancy based searching is that there are too many unnecessary threads on BHW, even one liner threads with a handful of replies.

So let's say someone posts a guide on Adwords in March and I wish to access it. When I search for 'Adwords' in the search bar, the first post I am shown is one from 2012 with the title "Adwords" and the first line

Okay, i'm trying out Adwords again, but imho it's evil because i usually spend more then i'm making, and yeah it's because i don't have a clue of what i'm doing... lol

This is the same in the BST - if I am trying to find a service which has slide off the first page and I try searching for the product in the market place, I get shown closed threads from 2010 or something first.

To resolve all of this, I have to click "More" - reselect the forum I wish to search and then change Order by from "Relevancy" to "Most Recent".

I believe this also the cause of much of the ancient thread bumping we've been seeing recently. New members come to the site, they search for a topic that interests them and instead of being shown a current discussion, they are shown an ancient thread, which they go ahead and reply to without checking the dates.

I would love if this can be a feature set as default - or an individually selectable option.

Thanks

+1 for this, i need always to click advanced search too

Anything that can be done about this @Apricot @Diamond Damien

I am still seeing threads bumped from years ago. It devalues the current content.
