Perhaps 72 hours would be better than 30 days.

It took me months to get above 50 posts. I would get turned off from a forum like that. It also encourages spamming and pointless posts so people can boost up their postcount. 10-15 is a perfect amount IMO.

There are enough reported posts already, which keeps the mods busy
The staff are already behind on BSTs and reported posts, so I don't know how adding more will help in that matter

You could set more rules for newcomers.
Like, can create a thread once at 2 hours.
Since most newcomers are looking to ask questions here it isn't fair to make them wait x hours or post y replies until they can create a thread.
They register, ask one question and need to wait 2 hours until they can create a new thread.
That way you avoid excessive spam and don't force users to spam more in order to create threads.

Yes, I agree with this. Suppose any software user or business person searching for a solution and bumped in to this forum through google search or heard that he would find solution over here and wanted to post his query for immediate assistance, then can't and have to wait all the 30 days which he wouldn't and at the end he leave this forum.
Threads from newbies should be monitored.
It's not about talking. Everyone know's it's just to increase post count by making meaningless and boring posts.

Suggestion: Limit the new users access to 'one thread' a day for the first 30 days after signup.
This should cut down spam by bots to one thread(which can be reported and deleted asap) and if someone really has a question, they can ask it freely as well.
And if they have too many questions, this will encourage them to use the search button.
