Suggest me a Laptop OR PC

Have it custom made.
I spent less than your budget,
and got the machine of my dreams.
The guy who built it is a master,
and I take it to him once a year
for upgrades, system check, ect.
You will not regret custom work
which the mass produced versions simply
cannot match. Everybody has one of those.

If that's too big for you consider the g54 series for 15 inch laptop.

That said a desktop will ALWAYS give you better price vs cost performance, but to really get a great deal you should consider building one yourself. I built my buddy one for 700 dollars and it can play all the top games right now with max quality ^^. The thing you sacrifice is portability and a warranty. Hope that helps :).

Also I would not touch Dell anymore, everyone I went to college with came with a Dell and broke < 1 year :(. Alienware is a different situation, but they are overprices in my opinion.

If you want reliability consider getting Thinkpad/Lenovos.

If you're set on buying a laptop, go Asus, Toshiba, or Lenovo Thinkpad. If you're getting a PC, don't buy some garbage pre built Dell. Build your own. Dells and HP's tend to break down within a year or two, whereas a home built computer will last you years and years and be way cheaper.

Follow this guide when picking parts. If you don't want to put it together yourself, bring the parts to a computer repair shop and the larger guy with the neckbeard behind the counter will gladly do it for $20 - $50
 
If you are looking for a brand, it doesn't really matter, they all use the same part manufactures for the most part. Definitely checkout Newegg.com. I bought my desktop from there. Well actually, I bought the parts and built it myself. Nevertheless, Newegg is the cheapest... by far! You can save a ton of money there, especially if you know how to put together a computer.
