Suddenly, backlinks

I've not been here long, but already I've bought services from two people. I'm now looking at buying backlinks on mass, however it occurs to me what does this mean for search engines?

I have my site, quite new with relatively low back links, suddenly there are 25k links to it. Surely Google and other search engines just see this as a red flag?

Does anyone have any insight into suddenly having more back links in a short space of time?

At the moment I'm doing the rounds on link directories with digixmas. I was looking to deploy this service. (below, I can't post links yet so I've posted the thread title, sorry) I'm not sure if they equals low or high quality.

You need to expore the power of the search button although I persoanlly always search on Google as the search function here could be better (site:blackhatworld.com KEYWORD).

There are many, many threads about the various pitfalls and benefits of obtaining many links in a short space of time (link velocity) and one of the more balanced experiements can be found here;

note: too many on one thing alone could sometimes trigger manual reviews and penalties, as I have experienced.

It surely depends on the quality of the backlinks.

One time when we incur penalties we tried to email them in the webmaster tool [google] they look into the matter [automated reply] and never get us back to high rankings.

this may of course go against the notion of:

"if this type of backlinks hurt me, then I will do it to my competitors to hurt them"

but yeah the only explaination we can muster is that it may trigger a manual review sometime the other

It's not really a bad thing. If Google sees link velocity than you are fine. Bfellow did an experiment where he blasted his site constantly and it went up in rankings because it was constant. Keep building more and more links every week.

Following this comment verbatim is why so many people experience problems - as I said, research before you accept anything and blast your site to oblivion. Understand what effects are likely and how to counter them - simply blasting as described above consistently is in most cases not sufficient, there is much more to it than this.

Go to Bfellow's thread. He blasted a brand new site and only saw his rankings grow. He didn't blasted it non-stop and not 1 million urls, but he kept it at a steady pace that made it look natural.

Of course you need on-page seo and a variety of backlinks, but his site won't get banned. There have been case studies on this.

I think you are missing the point - (with all due respect) you are not in a position to advise the OP on whether it is safe or not IMO. He needs to take the decision based upon his own research. I am aware of this thread but I am also aware of many of my own experiements over the course of several years. You cannot blanket an opinion about this particular problem because you simply do not have the information to make this decision. The top 10 results, the niche link and content graphs and how they are viewed in the top 10 will ultimately be the best yard stick to make this decisionn based upon the data - you or I do not have this information hence, why he needs to research and come to his own decision...

He already has the back links. It's not like he can reverse them. Also, you did comment on the thread below so you obviously saw what he did. The last page concludes the experiment and how it went. Not only is content important, but link velocity. If the OP stops building links then it's more suspicious.

thanks all for your comments. This subject is certainly a big topic which I'm only scratching the surface of.

rather than bulk buying submissions I'm now looking at buying scrapebox and managing my own submissions at a steady rate.
