A client of mine had the same problem, he was adament it was a Google algorithm change, however a quick check on Ahrefs revealed, the guest posts he had paid for on instructables, hongkiat, medium, etc had all been deleted. It appeared they were all written by the same contributor who's account had been suspended due to misuse, so all guest posts, in total 12, were also deleted.

Now that, makes sense. If you lose links from those sites, you will def lose rank. That may be what happened to me.

Same thing is happening with me since last couple of weeks. Ranking dropped for many sites with mostly 301 redirects. I think some kind of update is going on inside the Google Algo.
