Sudden drop of keyword ranking

Hey guys,

I had a site whose keyword was on position 12 till yesterday. However upon checking today my site keyword has all of a sudden dropped to number 472.

The strange thing is I haven't done anything different to the back linking efforts and the content remains the same. I'm wondering if this is a temporary thing or if there is no way of possibly knowing at the moment? Can that position be gained again?

The position can always be gained again. Get some social signals like fb shares & tweets. Also its better to post a new article and bookmark it on high pr bookmarking sites.

The seach system in google is updated regularly. So to maintain pace with google you need to be also very active. Keep your eyes open.

Yes indeed Panda 3.9 is out and screwing sites harder than ever... I really hope there is another search engine that steps up and knocks the King off of his throne soon. Low adsense payments, twisted search results and just basic crap from a monopoly.

i had the same issue about a month back.. my site was not updated for long.. just started posting content regularly and got back to the positions

...well sheet happens & google doing their best to remind you of this fact

usually, like mentioned above,if you keep on doing what you did before, you'll gain your positions back pretty soon

Is it a new site? then its totally OK. its Google dance. you will see your SERP changed in 6 hours.
you can share it in Face book and publish some more articles to remain stable in the Search engine.

if your talking abt google.com then it might be the case of google dancing.. check out after 6 to 8 hrs or more over 24 hrs you might get your ranking back [considered tht u might not get any warning message in your GWT for violation].

i hope this thing u must know even though would like to point out that u must have to check out that while ur checking your ranking you must not be logged-in in any of google base services..
