Sudden drop in Instagram likes

Likes on my account dropped from 120 on average to average 40. I'm using the same picture quality, same hashtags, posting 5 pictures a day, have more followers than before, but still have 3 times less likes in last 2 days. It seems that all almost the likes coming from the followers.

What could be reason?

I noticed the same, I also notice that you can't add a crazy amount of tags to posts anymore.

Maybe the new update?
 
I've also noticed a drop.. I usually go back and re-edit and add another 30 #'s but i havent actually checked if this is still working or not.

Dropped from 10-12k likes per post to 6-8k.... Actually kinda angry atm... IG keeps fucking up my engagement.
 
Not only likes but the views also dropping considerably , instagram is getting worse in the last 2 quarters
 
I am doing better then ever . Hope the best for all of you.
 
In one of my accounts, I've seen an increase in engagement and in other I've seen dip.
 
Many of us have been experiencing this. I just keep experimenting with my posts, hashtags, time, etc.

It would not be surprising if Instagram is going the Facebook way (it's the same company after all). It was actually a matter of time. The problem is very likely to worsen over time.
 
 
Definitely the update, just a matter of time before IG is not viable anymore...sucks what's happening to Instagram.

I don't use more than 10 hashtags per post, I post once every 3 days to increase my likes/post average. My last post has gotten less likes than the posts I made before. I also noticed that my followback ratio has decreased in the past few days. Not sure what is going on...
