My conspiracy theory is that the more people that get dropped in ranks (or bounced around), the more people will buy their ads for traffic instead.Welcome to Google in 2019. No fucks given. Unreasonable, random and pointless.
I think Google is just trying to test different things
Yes, it has always been like this. The people always try to remain the traffic or get even more traffic, so they are much more willingly to spend cash on ads etc.My conspiracy theory is that the more people that get dropped in ranks (or bounced around), the more people will buy their ads for traffic instead.
Welcome to Google in 2019. No f***s given. .
Did you checked your search console performance is their any sudden drop in the graph?
hmm no updates on searchenginejournal too. There is movement around that date, no only from what I can see, but also reported by others. Tweak, signs of coming algo...who knows?
Not sure about your niche, but for mine I see magnificent changes. In 2017 I could create a quality site with great content, create some quality links and simply rank. As it should be.Think 2017 was the last time those were handed out. Oh, wait, 2017 wasn't much different?

How about now? [...]
It seems at this time the Google algo is completely retarded. At least in my niche. It seems so totally random.
Hmm, a little weird.
I'm new to blogging and SEO etc. but I am noticing my articles jumping between page 1 and 2 on google every single day, but I think Google is just trying to test different things and see which ones are most useful for the user, by measuring bounce time, titles, meta description etc.
