Hey guys,

I need some help. I cant create a thread in the blogging section because I get this message:

You are trying to post a message that has triggered our moderation system. Double check our rules to make sure you are posting something that is appropriate. We don't tolerate any selling, posting contact information, urls, swearing, giving thanks ect... Please understand this is to protect our community from spammers. Once you have been a member of BHW for a longer period of time this limit will be removed. Thank you!
I know that another member posted a thread in the feedback section and DiamondDave gave a response, and I tried to follow his advice but I still got nothing.

And yes I did search the forums for my answer ( I've been doing that for the last 3 weeks as I surfed BHW)

I got a similar message earlier when I was trying to edit my signature today. Kept telling me it was too long even if I put only like 3 characters.

There's some weird glitch with this forum I guess. Just log out, clear your cookies/etc, and close your browser. Then restart from scratch. & Don't try to copy/paste what it was rejecting. Type it over again.

What did Dave say to do?

I tried to do what you said but it still didn't work.

Here is the t-h-r-e-a-d that another blackhatter submitted

EDIT: Cant post BHW thread links :(

Guys please read:

Make sure you read Harro's post which is #35

I've already read that thread and the rules. My post didnt violate any rules though nor was it spam.

EDIT: I couldn't even quote you because the filter didn't let me.

Just keep this thread going.;) Before you know it you'll have enough posts to the point where the restrictions disappear. lol

LOL and how many posts is that? I'm not some spamming noob... I have 900 posts on HF :(

You should read the thread Millygirl posted, and Diamond Dave also gave an explanation about it in this thread: I cant open new thread.

@Nexonkiller - Unfortunately you and the other new members are suffering because the spam posts and helpme posts were really getting out of hand. The mods tried dealing with it the best they could but it wasn't getting any better. So because of that the admins apparently had to make the post filters a lot more restrictive. I'm sure everyone wishes there was a way to stop the spammers and noobs, but let new members that are here to participate still be less restricted. Apparently this was the best solution they could come up with, but even though it makes it somewhat of a pain it should also keep out a lot of the spammers too which is still of benefit to you as well. Hopefully you'll be able to get your post count up high enough that you won't need to worry about it anymore. :)

Think of it like this. One of the things you need to learn to really get the most out your writing is to learn how to spin your articles. Think of this as a training exercise forcing you to spin your posts till you find the right words that say what you want but arent filtered. This way by the time you're able to post with less restrictions you'll be really good at finding the best phrases for spinning articles. :)

Can we get a list of words not to say? So far I have:

* ___
* __ (strangely enough)

That answered one of the things I was wondering. But how about always seeing ******** in place of words? I see this even by posts from normal users not labeled as "newbie". So what is that all about? :confused:

Those are censored words or phrases that can't be discussed here. Avoiding those filters, just like avoiding the new moderation system, can result in an infraction or a ban.

Publicly posting the list of filtered phrases would completely defeat the purpose of the moderation system, don't you think? :rolleyes:

I can appreciate trying to keep spam down. I ran a forum once and it gets pretty ridiculous. But tbh, blocking new members from being polite (the t-word) and being able say P-M is a little excessive IMHO.

I have been lurking around for a couple of years and finally decided to get involved. Both my response to a sales thread and my introduction (a long one where I gave t-h-a-n-k-s to BHW for being such a great resource) "triggered" the moderation system.

But I had no clue about the new system, so I went and created a new account thinking maybe I didn't activate it correctly. Finally, after searching for a while I found this thread.

I know it's a work in progress, but I imagine a lot of new members abandon the forum out of frustration when they can't post.

I think that having more than one account at the same time is quick method to getting you tossed off the forum...

All of the worthwhile forums I've been on have had restrictions for new members. Some were much more restrictive than here. If you can't deal with the 'buy-in' to be here then maybe you're not suited for the forum. I'm just sayin'... :D

PS. Is there any way we can get 'Thanks for the share' added to the moderated phrases list for noobs??!!

I was getting that for a while. If your 100% sure your not breaking the rules I just reword my posts or find synonyms until it goes through. Usually, it works.
