Greetings all,
I have been trying different campaign test and I seem to be a little bit off if these are viable methods.

Here is what I tested:

Method #1
Gift card email submit for a store pop up when visitor his xyz.com
conclusion:
Little or no conversions to justify advertising cost

Method #2
Voting email submit about stimulus package pop up when someone hits irs/turbo tax/hrblock sites.
conclusion:
Little or no conversions to justify advertising cost.

Method #3
"Run of Network" option for financial category, Voting email submit about stimulus package pop up when someone hits a financial category site.
conclusion:
Few thousand hits, made %50 (not profit) back from conversions.

If anyone has success in this arena, I would be very interested in your input.
I feel my methods on a basic level have potential and maybe I just need to test new offers but any feedback will be appreciated.

I've done tests, they've been successful, but after a few weeks it dies out (because there is no point in showing the same ad to someone, so i set it to show every 4 weeks).
Also, not big money in this in my experience. I can spend $50, make $150 in 2 weeks, and then it dies out with conversions down to 2% (which is around break even or slightly up)

You could probably frame an email submit and make it attractive and make a good profit doing this blackhat way... but for honest email submits via PPV i haven't found anything sustainable that is worth it.

Thanks,
From what I gathered, whitehat is more trouble to deal with atm.
I will revisit later with some BH tests.

I have had some success in this area, but not a whole lot. At the moment my tests have been profitable, but not to a point that you could live off of it. Having said that I have seen that these submits are a lot more predictable than some of the CPA offers with bigger payouts. If you get your matrix right you will see pretty consistent conversions.

I have run a number of tests which involve super highly targeted urls and although I have had some quick conversions they tend to disappear after a few days. Not enough traffic or new traffic I think.

I have also tested the "throw and stick method "which seems to be a better approach, because you can get a good number of converting urls with a higher traffic yield. However, it means that you have a lot more ground to cover in order to recoup the losses. But once you have it is predictable profit from there on.

I have been sitting on one such email submit that has recouped it's losses and is steadily been profitable for close to a month now.

Thanks Frank,
I am considering testing the throw and stick method after I scale up my profitable campaigns.

been running acai for 10 days, not even 1 person visited any of my keywords -.-

DVDcowboy, be EXTREMELY careful with "run of the network" ads. That is a great way to lose tons of money faster than pouring a glass of water down the drain. The network loves it, you will lose your shirt really quickly.

I've had good campaigns, as well as duds with PPV. The ones that where good only lasted for a very short period of time. You need to know one important fact about PPV. The network is watching your ads, and they run ads themselves too. So if you run something profitable, dont be surprised when all of a sudden you can no longer run ads under your keyword terms. It's because they saw your profitable ads, tested it, and liked it, so they are now kicking you out of the competition. I know from first hand experience. This all can be a very dirty game, so be prepared.

All the feedback is welcome.
Thanks again BHW brothers!

PPV is profitable, don't listen to what they are saying. Get Proseper202, Get their offer roatation script add-on (check forums) and rotate 5-10 offers of the same type of offer, make sure you know what your doing as far as research. Put $10 daily budget on each campaign and set and end date for that campaign for the next day. Create multiple campaigns (all rotating offers) see if anything converted, throw out garbage, and repeat. ....Then again, I'm no expert, just getting heavily in to the PPV (found someone to invest with me as a partner), IM me if you need any pointers cowboy.

i am interested in starting pointers. Dude, you're the only one on the forum saying that PPV makes him money you realize this?

do you know who makes a lot of money from internet marketing? those prosper202 guys, they have the most insight to see what converts, at what rate, and where it is coming from. just for your information

is that the case even if you use the self-hosted version?

I would also throw this onto the table, different networks have different ad types. Adon for instance doesn't do pop ups, they do pop unders..... the cost is much cheaper, but you need a LOT more traffic with pop unders to see any kind of return....

MediaTraffic on the other hand do pop ups, but the cost per view is higher, and their minimum deposit is $200 at the moment.... seems like the more rputable companies require a bigger deposit, and will do popups......

And I agree with gurujh about the run of network warning... your costs can go thru the roof with little return when they start showing your ads on sites that have no relevance to what your selling....

Email/Zip submits are the only types of offers that convert for me. Ultimately they don't pay enough for me to even break even. I have yet to get a single Free Trial + S&H Offer to convert. Once I can get those going, I'm on my way. But getting someone to pull out a credit card is a big leap.

\ii'm breaking even with mediatraffic.

only zip submit.

However every month I get more profitable

Next month i'm sure I will break even b/c i'm good now (only took me 3 months to "get it")

The magic happens when you find a good Url scraper that works for you.

Scrape which Urls are related to your zip/email submit and that will get your ad costs down.

see..

@clinch: Do you put the whole url in mediatraffic or do you cut i.e. the document root and keep only the domain for advertising? Thx for your answer.

i have doing ppv rom past 2 days so far lost 50 and 0 return for me

Pretend that you have a Grocery Card offer okay?

Get a url scraper - It will target related domains like this:

cafemom.c0m/group/16100/forums/read/9435
community.upromise.c0m/t5/grocery-drug-stores
frugalsimplicity.c0m/2009/07/23/250-grocery..
etc
etc
etc

All found with a URL scaper!

Everyone else targets things like:

coupons.com
foodnetwork.com
couponmom.com

This is wrong b/c these common domains are highly competitive to pop a window up for and hence, costs more, which will in turn, eat into their profit margins.
