Subscribe to Website Question

I'm using a plugin on my site that allows people to enter their email and subscribe to it. The weird thing I'm seeing is that I'm getting quite a lot of subscriptions, but the names and email addresses are totally not legit. To me, it looks like a randomized subscription each time. Should I be worried about this at all? I can easily remove the plugin, but it makes my site seem better in my eyes. Thanks guys.

Subscription option is always a plus for any website, as it can help you grow your recurring traffic. Moreover, email marketing is still one of the most effective ways to market online.

So don't remove this option, however you might want to change your plugin or change plugin settings to be able to verify person's subscription information while still typing it in. Or you can use double opt-in process, where the user needs to confirm his subscription by clicking the link in the verification email they receive. This will remove ‘unwanted subscribers' and clear your lists.
