Subreddit welcome message

There was an option called "Welcome message" in your subreddit that sent a message to new redditors who just joined your subreddit.
A welcome message would be sent to their inbox 1 hour after they joined.
I see this option is not available anymore and a message is shown telling me: Welcome messages have moved to the community guide.
After checking the community guide, i see the option "Welcome message" however it seems now that this welcome message can be set to only show up to the user when they join the subreddit, but a message is not sent to their inbox. Is this the case? How can we set the welcome message to their inbox like it was before?

Confirmed, it's just a popup now, no inbox DM, kinda kills the personal touch tbh.
