    Hello guys,

I've done my research and thought I had everything nailed but for some reason one of my subpages ranks above my main page for my main keyword and I'm not sure why? I imagine I need more content on my homepage but I'm not sure what to add to it other than my recent posts, featured, etc.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Many thanks

May be your subpage has backlinks from other sources or unique content but not sure there can be some other reasons too, however giving backlinks from your subpages to the mainpage will increase it's SEO value.

Have you checked all the backlinks to each page as far as you can? There's a good chance it's that - as just one backlink from a stronger page can make the difference. If you found that was the case you might be able to ask the site in question to switch their link or even add an extra one.

There are both paid and free ways to find all your backlinks. If I was doing it, I'd check out Matthew Woodward's site (his name .co.uk). I know he's written some good stuff on the topic and he's the person whose brains I'd pick on the topic.

(As I write I am sitting here waiting for Matt to turn up at the BHW Ungagged Conference in Vegas :) We'll be in the bar tonite.)

    Hope that helps.

Google thinks that your inner page is more relevant compared to your home page. You can do the following:
    1) add more content to the home page
    2) Change title, h1 , description to be more relevant to search term
    3) make 301 redirect from inner page to home page (if possible)

    Hope this helps
